Zinal is Switzerland's highest inhabited town resting at an altitude of 1670m. It lies amidst a magnificent mountain landscape surrounded by three 4000-metre-peaks, in the French speaking region of Valais. It is authentically Swiss and family friendly. There are many restaurants/ bars, two ski hire shops, two supermarkets, a winter crèche, beauty salon and a church.
Most of the skiing is between 2000 - 3000m, guaranteeing a long ski season. The region has over 220 km of pistes, 44 lifts, plus vast off-piste and high altitude skiing, catering for all standards. One ski-pass covers the five skiing areas of Zinal - Grimentz - St-Luc - Chandolin and Vercorin and a free shuttle bus operates between them. Within the Zinal resort, there are 9 lifts with 70 kms of pistes.
In summer, Zinal is perfect for nature holidays away from the masses. Hiking, mountain biking, climbing, golfing, horse riding, water parks, thermal pools, tennis, wine tours, it is truly Switzerland's unspoilt gem.
