Alentejo: A well kept secret.
Alentejo is a unique region of South-West Portugal. Enjoy plains, mountains, hills, rivers and, not the least, the sea and its many beaches and cliffs. This immense diversity is the main attraction of this unique region.
The coast offers beautiful sandy beaches embedded in the cliffs. The best preserved coastline in Europe, roman ruins, prehistoric sites, moor architecture and beautiful white villages are some of the points of interest. Alentejo also means very welcoming people in a non touristic area.
Longueira is located within the Nature Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina. http://portal.icnb.pt/ICNPortal/vEN2007
Almograve/Longueira offers kilometres of sandy beaches, many secluded. The village has coffe shops, restaurants, grocery stores, bars. Also a children playing area and access to a soccer field for children.

About Francine Brousseau
I am Canadian. Semi retired museum executive. Still working part time as a writer and translator. I live in my country house several months per year, enjoying the outstanding environment that the Alentejo region and the Costa Vicentina offer. I have two sons that loved to enjoy this family house too and a partner that owes a « monte », a small farm nearby in the countryside.
Francine Brousseau purchased this house in 2009
Why Francine Brousseau chose Longueira/Almograve
Because of unique location in a beautiful village and very close to the ocean.
What makes this house unique
The most well preserved and beautiful coast in Europe. The charm of a traditional non touristic quiet village. The welcoming spirit of the Alentejanos.
