We had a fabulous stay at Casa Mazzoli! We are two families with 3 young children, and everyone enjoyed the home. The house was quite large and comfortable and the scenery was gorgeous! The bedrooms were large and nicely decorated. (The photos don't do the house justice; it was much nicer than we expected!) It was nice to have most of the bedrooms upstairs (5 are upstairs) so the kids could sleep while the adults enjoyed a meal and Chianti wine. There are two dining tables--a smaller one in the kitchen, and a grand table in the dining room. There are also two dens/sitting areas on opposite sides of the home if you need it. (We barely used one of them!) The pool was lovely as well; the kids were in it every day! Eva and Michele (the owners) are right next door if you need them, but we went days without seeing them. One day one of the kids needed a doctor, so we went to ask Eva if she had any suggestions. Turns out, her husband, Michele, is a retired doctor! He made a "house call", prescribed medicine and went to town to pick it up! We were thrilled! The house is in a very quiet area (you will only hear the sounds of animals at night), but it is also centrally located around many beautiful vineyards and an easy drive to Florence, Sienna or San Gimignano. You are also very near Panzano in Chianti and Greve in Chianti; two small towns with nice restaurants, markets, cute shops and a famous butcher--Dario Cecchini at Antica Macelleria Cecchini. The only negative is that the road to the home is quite rough. However, there are many roads like this throughout Chianti, so you do get used to it! If you are looking for a villa in Chianti, we would highly recommend Casa Mazzoli!
Beautiful peaceful house, great site, refreshing pool, very helpful hosts (we should have asked them more!). We really enjoyed our stay there to the point where it was a dilemna to leave to visit Firenze, Sienna etc...The house is big enough that the babies could sleep in the evening and we could sleep in the morning without disturbing each other. One of the highlights of our stay was probably the pizza night : made from scratch and cooked in the pizza oven : delicious! We'll go back anytime.
