Casa Spello's convenient location in the heart of the historic center and its outstanding panoramic views are what makes this historic medieval property one of the most desirable in the region. Staying at Casa Spello is an experience. As our guests put it: 'It oozes charm'.

Over 500 years old, Casa Spello is a newly renovated medieval property, located in the historic center of Spello, a hillside village with a rich history which predates Roman times. The property, nestled within the ancient city walls, boasts one of the most panoramic views in all of Spello; on a clear day, you can see the church towers of Assisi, Perugia, Montefalco, Foligno and the rolling hills covered in olive groves and vineyards which surround Spello. Our large garden/orchard, surrounded by an 1800 year old Roman wall, is an ideal setting for al fresco dining, sunset watching over a glass of Montefalco wine, or sipping coffee before the day's adventures.

The property is over 500 years old, restored by a local architect to provide it with all the modern amenities, while preserving its genuine medieval ambiance. It once was a home with two large 'cantinas' (cellars) where the family used to make wine and press their olive oil. It is now available for rent on a short-term or long-term basis.

Originally it was built with hand carved mountain stone - a beautiful peach color stone which came from the nearby Subasio mountain.

The apartment is elegantly furnished with antique-style and rustic furnishings, and has a fully equipped kitchen for your cooking pleasure. There is also a fireplace. It is tastefully decorated with Umbrian handcrafted fixtures such as hand-blown glass, tiles and hand-painted ceramics from nearby Deruta. This apartment sleeps two to four people. The convenient location of Casa Spello makes it easy to walk to the wonderful local restaurants, markets, boutiques and train station in this quaint village.

A WONDERFUL WAY TO HAVE SPENT A WEEK AT CASA SPELL

Gina what a wonderful way to have spent a week of our Italian holiday experiencing Spello and its surroundings in Casa Spello. Memories of drinks on the balcony each afternoon hot chocolates, cappuccinos and wonderful food, great countryside to absorb ourselves in , will stay with us forever. Probably the most memorable will be the friends we made , particularly Cindy, who made us feel so welcomed. All we can say is Thank You.

Umbria is our favorite place in Italy and we now have a new favorite village. Spello is truly magical. And we really appreciated Gina's beautiful apartment. The bed was excellent, the kitchen large and fully equipped, and the artifacts in the apartment special - unusual for a rental.

A Gourmet Paradise

I am a professional chef and for me this was a gourmet paradise! Fresh produce and good eats everywhere. Literally just-out-of-the-oven fresh artisan bread, great wine, and all in the heart of truffle and prosciutto country! Did not have one bad meal, plus the gelato was great as well! And nothing tops a great meal more than a great meal on a beautiful hill, which Casa Spello has. Thanks Dan and Gina for showing us the restaurant in Preci, Il Castoro! 7 courses of Heaven. Fresh truffle topped on home made pasta.... Well stocked kitchen in Casa Spello and nearby markets made everything easier, and meals at home meant great time to talk, eat, and enjoy the views.

Our time at Casa Spello was perfect

had excellent accomodation at Casa Spello.

We loved our time at Casa Spello. My sister Terri and her husband had stayed here twice already and they invited us to stay with them this time. The apartment was full of character with the old cellar walls and ceiling still intact, yet all modern convieniences were available. The views over the farms to the hills beyond were fabulous. We loved the garden and had breakfast there in the mornings and a glass of wine there in the evenings and watched the sunset.
Casa Spello is located in a quiet but central location of beautifil Spello. There are some fabulous restaurants in the town and nearby. We explored other towns both nearby and in the surounding regions including the beautiful Sibillini Mountains. We walked to assisi and along the Roman aquaduct.
We will definately be returning to Casa Spello. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Stunning views and five star accommodation

Caso Spello was sublime. We stayed in the downstairs apartment (sleeps four), The decor was stunning and comfortable, the kitchen was outfitted well, but the jewel in the crown was the gardens outside, lavender and rosemary hedges, fruit trees in a private area with a gazebo that had a grape vine growing over it to shade you from the sun, and the roses, the perfume!! Then their was the view over the valley below you and just around the corner Assisi spectacularly lit up at night. The restaurants were great and well priced also the train station was an easy walk down the hill. We will be definitely returning to Casa Spello.
