Fabulous Pool and Gardens with sea view. Free Wi-Fi (broadband) in the apartment. It truly has the ideal location! Situated on the very fringe of the beautiful old fishing town of Lagos and with superb views across the ancient Moorish stone walls to the town and beach. Enjoy the sun all day from one of the three balconies. Just a few minutes stroll brings you into the old centre of Lagos with its cobbled streets and hundreds of fabulous restaurants, bars, the marina and many attractions. Directly from the apartment, in only a few minutes, you can walk to a choice of the best Algarve beaches including the famous Praia Dona Ana with its towering sandstone cliffs. Many other beaches are easily accessible within a short drive including the huge expanse of Miea Praia, Praia da Luz, Burgau or wild surfing beaches on the west coast. Famous for golf, you have a choice of spectacular courses within a few minutes drive of the apartment. Brand new Private pool complex and play area. 42' LCDTV.

Air conditioning in Lounge and all Bedrooms! Partial underfloor heating. This is a 3 bedroom property but one of the bedrooms is kept locked for laundry and owners apparel.

Golf: The Algarve is famous for golf and within 30 minutes of this apartment is the world famous Penina golf course. Special rates for the Resort Course have been negotiated. More locally, within a few minutes drive, you have numerous spectacular courses including Parque da Floresta, Belavista, Palmares and Boavista. Boavista is the closest course being just a few minutes’ drive away and if there are any non-golfers in the party or you fancy a day off, there are excellent leisure facilities where you can spend hours in the gym/indoor pool and pampering yourself in the spa before meeting at the 19th hole in the state-of-the-art clubhouse or perhaps one of the two excellent restaurants. The apartment has a secure underground car park with lift access to the apartment making the logistics involved with golf clubs much easier. There is room to stand clubs in the spacious entrance hall or you can stand them out of the way on the covered terrace.

Eating in or out: Eating out in Lagos is a genuine pleasure as there is something for every taste.

TV: In the lounge there is a 42' LCD TV with freeSAT on Astra Satellite. For more channels, bring your SKY box with you.

Why Ian chose Amejeira

We purchased this property 'off plan'. We were the first to buy and picked the apartment we new would have the best views from the top floor at the end of the block and the best location right at the town walls for easy access to the pubs, restaurants and town beaches. There is also a family supermarket just across the road and a Spar supermarket 3 minutes away! The famous Dona Ana beach and town beaches within easy walking distance.

What makes this apartment unique

No car required! All beaches, Pubs, restaurants etc are minutes away (if you can drag yourself away from the fabulous views)

My sister and I had two wonderful weeks at this apartment in November, the weather was lovely and warm for the time of year. The apartment was just a few minutes from all local shops and miriad of restaurants and a short walk to Lagos centre, fish market , Marina and beaches etc. so a car was not essential.

The apartment was as described, in pristine condition, towels, bedding etc. were of high quality and plentiful. The large flat-screen satellite television for those quiet nights in was perfect, with loads of channels. At the corner, there was a wonderful pizza restaurant. that we used a couple of times. There were lovely views from all three balconies and they got the sun all day. The large patio doors made the apartment light and airy.

The Owners were very helpful and the people who looked after the apartment, Val and Trev were wonderful. We even had a lovely night out with them. I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and am looking forward to staying there again. Bridget and Josie.

A return home

I am always apprehensive about making a second visit to a place of which I have happy memories in case it has changed, particularly after a gap of two and a half years. However, I needn't have worried. The apartment was absolutely spotless and as well-equipped as ever. There was still the same fantastic view of Meia Praia beach from the balcony.

Carlos and Vanda were quietly efficient and welcoming, and the wonderful little supermarket across the square was still run by the same friendly, helpful couple. As for Lagos, it too had lost none of its charm.

It was good to meet Ian, the owner, and to be able to tell him personally how much we love the apartment. Would I recommend the apartment to a friend or relative? Without hesitation - the proof is that we are planning to return next spring!

This property is furnished to a high and modern standard. The views from the balcony are stunning and the property is situated a stones through from the town center. The swimming pool area is clean, comfortable and relaxing.

Staying here added the the success of my holiday in Lagos and I would definitely recommend this apartment.

Lovely Apartment

The apartment was everything the description said. We were met by Carlos on our arrival and he ensured our stay would be all that we expected. The security for the apartment was 1st class. The standard of furnishings was top notch and very comfortable. The outlook from the north western balcony is superb with a good view of Lagos bay and to the north, the Monchique mountains. The late afternoon/early evening sunshine is there to be enjoyed from this balcony.

The apartment is located just a short walk from "Old Lagos" where the architecture of the old town can best be appreciated. An abundance of good restaurants are there for the taking with many varied tastes to suit all. A hire car is always a good idea to fully take in all that Portugal offers. It gives full independence for your holiday.

If we had the money, and the apartment was for sale, we would be sitting down in negotiation with Ian and Marie right now.

Thank you both for a brilliant holiday/honeymoon. This apartment deserves a full 5 star rating and yes not only would we recommend it but we would not hesitate to return here.

Marie an I are so glad that it has lived up to your expectations. Now that the Pool has been upgraded, landscaping at the back and the road at the front have been completed by the Town Council to a fine standard, we can't wait to go back to lagos to enjoy our own holiday. Thanks to Ian and his on-site helpers Carlos and Vanda in Lagos for helping me to tick all the boxes of my wife's wishlist for a relaxing holiday in the sun - she's german so standards are high ;-) Her comment to me following the holiday was along the lines "I'm really happy about the holiday we had in Portugal - it was a good choice and I had a relaxing time - we had the swimming pool, beautiful beaches nearby and a lovely sea view from the balcony". Her only reservation were the 4th floor balcony railings which probably are unsuitable if you have toddlers but given that our youngest was 5 we just made sure that he was supervised when he was talking to the seagulls ;-)

Owner's Response: Hi Kieran,, Thank you so much for your kind review. I too was concerned about the balcony railings for my two young Grandsons. The building specifications in Portugal are not quite as stringent in Portugal as UK and Germany but that is what we have to contend with to be in the sun. If the children are properly supervised there shouldn't be a problem. I have certainly not heard of any mishaps anywhere in the Algarve but awareness and vigilance is the key to safety anywhere whilst we are abroad. schöne Dame. ich danke Ihnen für Ihre freundlichen Worte x

Wonderful apartment, wonderful location!!!!

Have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Lagos. The apartment was fantastic had every home comfort, spotlessly clean and obviousley well cared for, with the bonus of wonderful sea and harbour views from the balconies of each room, definately a "Superior Penthouse". The location is excellent with all amenities within a short walking distance of the apartment . We arrived very late in the evening and were met by Carlos at the apartment who was most helpful and left his contact details if we required any assistance.

Lagos has something for everyone young and old. Shopping, restuarants, local cafes. The beaches are very accessable, clean, not crowded and there are lots to choose from. The Marina also has an excellent range of restuarants and bars with entertainment every evening. There is also an excellecnt local fresh fish and vegetable market in the town for those who like to cook, we did some evenings and enjoyed our meal on the balcony overlooking the sea. It would be very hard for anyone not to have a great holiday here. In fact on our recomendation my son and his young family have booked a holiday at Muralha and my other son intends to book for next year and I am sure once we tell our friends I believe they will be very keen to have the same holiday experience as we have just had.

My new favourite place.

Just got home from a weeks stay at this beautiful penthouse apartment situated in the centre of Lagos. Despite being so close to town it felt private and quiet and had fabulous unrestricted views of the sea and old town. Within a few minutes walk we were right in the middle of everything with easy access to the beach, marina, boutique shops and fabulous bars and restaurants. It was spotless, fully equipped with everything we needed to self cater and a lovely comfortable place to come back to day and night. Sorry to have had to leave. We will be back!

Superior Penthouse apartment on the top floor of the Muralha Apartment block with fabulous panoramic views over Lagos town towards Meia Praia beach in a brand new complex. Furnished to very high standards. The apartment is accessible by a lift. Kitchen is fully equipped with 4 ring gas hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. There are 2 bedrooms, one with en-suite bathroom.The bathrooms are equipped with bath, shower, toilet and bidet. Large living room with dining area. 3 Private terraces. Large communal area with sun loungers, pool and garden.The apartment has got air-conditioning for heating or cooling in every room. The bathrooms have underfloor heating. Private parking space (J) in the underground garage. All bedding and towels provided. The apartment has balconies on three sides and has the sun all day on them as it is an end of block apartment. There is a mini market 1000 meters away and a Spar Supermarket 400 meters away. The area abounds with excellent, fairly priced restaurants and on the corner is the best Pizza Restaurant in town.

History and Sandy Algarve Beaches

With a long and rich history, Lagos is nowadays a famous beach resort of the sunny Portuguese region of Algarve. Including wide sandy beaches and quiet coves enclosed by ochre cliffs, it also offers a lively city centre with one of the best mixes between history and modernity in the region.

King Henry the Navigator chose it as a base for his trips of discovery during the 15th century, and later on, it became the residence of the Algarve governors. The Old Town is circled by medieval walls, typical narrow streets, historic buildings and charming squares. B&B’s and hotels in Lagos’s historic centre allow you to enjoy these picturesque surroundings.

Apart from being an important centre for sailing, the city has amazing beaches, like Meia Praia or Praia da Dona Ana. Resorts and hotels on Lagos’ beaches are the perfect choice for sun lovers, while the hotels near the modern Lagos Marina are popular, as they are both close to the centre and the railway station.

The city is 70 km from Faro Airport, and 24 km from Portimão.
