This luxury apartment of 350 sq.metres , sleeping 8 to 10 people is in the best residential area in Cartagena, in the same block and and next door to Hotel Cartaganova.

The apartment occupies all of the fifth floor, is wheel chair accessible and well suited for a wheelchair or infirm guest.

With views to the Port of Cartagena, it overlooks the Admiralty grounds and gardens, is a two minute walk to main shopping facilities and restaurants. The apartment is at the high end of the luxury market , Impressive entrance with cloakroom, , large salon with two seating areas, desk with wifi connection, superb mountain and sea views, separate dining room, large family room

with television, seating for 8 and further dining table or study area. Both dining and family rooms share the magnificent views of the salon. There is a large, fully equipped L shaped kitchen with laundry room and yet another dining space for 6 people. You may eat in either the dining room, family room or kitchen.

Excellent and reliable maid, baby sitting,and laundry services are available from our well tried and trusted Ecuadorian staff at a cost of Euro 10 per hour

Of the 5 bedrooms, 3 are ensuite, two of the ensuites have baths with showers, bidet, and basins. The largest or main bedroom has a large double bed, with magnificent ensuite in Travertino marble with jacuzzi, and the other ensuite has a single bed with space for another pull down single bed, if required. The next two large bedrooms are as follows, one has a large double bed and one has a large single with possibility of putting in a further single to accommodate 10 people. They share a large bathroom with twin basins, bath with shower and bidet.

The third ensuite has a normal sized double bed and a shower room with a special corner shower with integral seat, suitable for an elderly or infirm person.

The property is fully air-conditioned and centrally heated. As this property is a home and not an hotel, a separate deposit will be required for excessive use of air conditioning. This is returnable in the event of reasonable usage which will be pre-determined by the season and number of occupants. Most people respect these facilities but occasionally they can be abused, hence the deposit.

Local Information - Historic Information : The historic city of Cartagena is the oldest in Western Europe. It is a 20 minute taxi ride from Murcia airport (costing 35 Euro). It has an excellent train and bus service to destinations all over Spain and the continent.

It has a wealth of historical sites and an ongoing program of archaeological digs.

The Roman amphitheatre and Aquatic museums are state of the art. A comprehensive ticket for visiting all sites can be purchased very reasonably at the town hall. Festivals, religious and cultural occur at intervals all year, from 6th Jan, to Carnival and the most important religious festival of Holy Week goes on for 10 days, with huge processions nightly through the streets and bars open until 6 a.m.

The Cruces de Mayo, Musica del Mar and the yachting festival, the Audi cup all follow. The last main event of the year takes place for ten days, Romanos and Cartaghenses at the end of September These bring their own unique character to a bustling city environment and have to be experienced to be appreciated

The tapas bars competing in La Routa de Tapas at

various intervals are a super way to experience local customs and cuisine as they attempt to outdo each other for the prime positions

There is a Wednesday market in the city offering excellent bargains right across the board and one of the largest department stores of El Corte Ingles

is located a short distance away. There is a proliferation of upmarket boutiques in the adjoining streets with both Zara and Massimo Dutti at a short stroll-

The city has been much enhanced by the ever increasing numbers of cruises visiting the city each year In 2013 this rose to 80, many on their way to the Americas, they bring tremendous liveliness and fun to the city as shops and acts in the street outvie each other for their attention. The climate is superb and no doubt this allows for all the frivolity that goes on in the city.

The local beach is a short bus ride ride away, and the Port itself offers a fund of activities from boat trips round the bay to sailing and associated activities.

In one direction La Manga Club, at 20 minutes,an upmarket resort offering championship golf and tennis is a must, and in other directions, the Bay of Mazarron, also at 20 minutes has a wealth of entertainment, diving, mountain walks, equestrian events, and en route a magnificent castellated site with pre-civil war canons and interesting overview of the importance of Cartagena and its role in monitoring mediterranean sea movements in WW2

National park in los Sierras Espumas north of Totana , Lorca and the world heritage site at Elche are other important sites to visit and these can be explored on line

We also offer parking for one large car in the main car park, adjacent, at the Plaza Espana- As you emerge, one of the best shopping chains, which will deliver to the apartment, is at the exit to the car park, Mercadona. These supply fresh meat and excellent quality fish. The large covered market of Santa Florentina is a short walk away and is a daily for serious food shoppers with its incredible fish intake (apart from Mondays)

A great place to stay

We had a short break here and it was wonderful just around the corner to the town centre and close to supermarkets and resturants. The apartment is very large with lots of different sitting areas making it great for large groups. Maria and Malcolm very welcoming and helpful. Would be very happy to visit again. A great place to stay!

Alquilé ésta maravillosa vivienda para dsifrutar de la estupenda semana santa de Cartagena junto con mi familia deesplazadadesde el extranjero. Han sido unas vacaciones estupendas. Los propietarios nos recibieron con muchísima amabilidad y la casa es confortable, cómoda, elegante, muy bien situada y completamente equipada. El anuncio no le hace justicia y realmente la casa es tan magnífica como aparece en las fotos, de hecho he tenido peticiones de amigos preguntándome como podían ponerse en contacto debido a las fotografías personales que hicimos durante esos días.

This is a superb destination for a city break.

The historic city of Cartagena is the oldest in Western Europe. It is a 20 minute taxi ride from Murcia airport (costing 35 Euro). It has an excellent train and bus service to destinations all over Spain and the continent.

It has a wealth of historical sites and an ongoing program of archaeological digs. The Roman amphitheatre and Aquatic museums are state of the art. A comprehensive ticket for visiting all sites can be purchased very reasonably at the town hall.

Festivals, religious and cultural occur at intervals all year, from 6th Jan, to Carnival and the most important religious festival of Holy Week goes on for 10 days, with huge processions nightly through the streets and bars open until 6 a.m. In the last ten days of September the festival of Cartaghineses and Romanos is fast becoming one of the most spectacular fiestas in the whole of Spain, where theancient history of the city is re-enacted,

starting with the marriage of Hannibal (of Elephant fame) and Himilce, a local Cartagenian Princess.

The City also participated in the yachting event of the Audi Cup which is hosted in the last week of August.

There are various International jazz and music festivals at various intervals throughout the Summer.

40 Cruise ships visit the City every year and add colour with activities put on for their entertainment.

La Manga Club, a popular golfing and tennis resort is 20 minutes drive away. There are also various Polaris

World Golf Resorts within easy reach of the city.

The beautiful marina, is at the end of the street, where local boat rides may be taken to tour the harbour., and Pleasure boats hired. The beach is a ten minute drive and is small and sheltered. The property is located on a residential street overlooking the gardens of the naval headquarters. There is an abundance of tapas bars and

excellent restaurants within a few minutes walking distance of the appartment. El Corte Ingles, the largest and

most prestigious department store in Spain is an easy walk and there are a plethora of boutiques and shops

adjacent to the property.

There are two supermarkets within a 3 and 5 minute walk. Mercadona and Upper, both will deliver on the same day. You can also book a delivery with El Corte Ingles from their supermarket on line. The apartment is adjacent to the Hotel Cartaganova where there is an adjacent Spa and Fitness Centre. Because of it's central location, the apartment enjoys the luxury of being in the immediate environment of all local events, particularly weddings held throughout the season which make for added entertainment in the outdoor seating areas of the local bars.
