The villa is superbly located on a site which has magnificent views over the Bay of Mazarron and mountains on the
other three sides, thus offering total privacy and seclusion. Outdoor piped music can be played day and night
without molesting any neighbour. The Blue Flag Beach at la Azohia is a 2 minute drive away as are the two vllages
of San Gines and Isla Plana.
The house is large and is extremely well equipped.. There is satellite T.V. The ground floor has three separate
dining areas in addition to the exterior dining facilities on each terrace.
There is an en suite twin bedded room on the ground floor, useful for the elderly. On the first floor is the main ensuite with air-con. There is a further twin-bedded air - con, and a twin bunk room sharing two separate bathrooms.
In addition to the above accomodation, there are two further double bedded rooms with bath which are never let
separately but can be rented by prior arrangement, joined to the bedrooms via a library.
The prices are based on 8 people sharing. The villa can comfortably accomodate a greater number
by consultation with the owners.
Villa Paraíso is quite unique due to it's superb location and spacious grounds of 2 acres on the edge of a traditional Spanish fishing village, which has still not succumbed to the ravages seen along the Costas, The house is very large, full of character and charm, as are the patios opening from the four sides of the villa. These are well furnished, with seating and dining arrangements on each. The house itself has a large salon and dining room, fully equipped kitchen with seating and dining area,
There is an extra-large American washing machine in an almacen outside the kitchen with great outdoor drying
facilities in a screened area.
A long passage leading from the kitchen takes you to the Bar Area which always remains cool throughout the day. With it's own fridge/freezer and children's/card room area, giving easy access to the Pool, it is a popular amenity with young and old.
The Bar area which leads onto the pool has piped oudoor music which can be played day or night without danger of molesting neighbours.
The kidney shaped pool is 10 x 6 metres and has an enclosed outdoor solar shower (excellent with it's foot pump for removing sand etc. from the beach and showering before entering the pool).
An additional advantage on the ground floor is a twin-bedded en suite, both elderly and disabled friendly.
There is another downstairs loo on the ground floor in the passage leading to the Bar.
On the first floor the main bedroom which is air conditioned has an ensuite with stuning views across the Bay of Mazarron. There are two further bedrooms in this section with two separate bathrooms, one is twin-bedded and air-conditioned, the other has two large bunk beds. Both these rooms, as with all the upstairs rooms have spectacular views across the mountains and sea.
A library room connects this part of the upstairs with a charming two roomed apartment with a central bathroom, kitchen and a balcony seating four on the southern side of the house. These rooms are both double-bedded and may be be used by prior arrangement when the number of guests exceeds eight. One is air-conditioned and
the other being adjacent to the outside balcony has a wood burning stove and floor based fan.
They are never let separately. They are very comfortable and again have superb uninterrupted views of the mountsins behind, and the Bay in front. They offer added seclusion to this tranquil setting
For winter lets, there are three wood burners and an open fireplace in the kitchen (logs provided).
Three of the bedrooms are air-conditioned and the ohers have ceiling or free-standing fans. It might be added
that there has never been any need for air-conditioning on the ground floor as the through breezes from mountain
pass to sea provides comfortable living conditions, this also applies to those who do not like air-conditioned bedrooms.
Pets may be brought with prior consultation and smoking is allowed in the Bar area.
At the large gas Barbecue which is near the Pool, 12 people may sit at a long marble table. This area is supplemented by various occasional dining tables and is therefore eminently suitable for entertaining friends.
The house is a 2 minute drive from the Blue Flag sandy beach. Apart from 2 Chiringuitos (beach bars), there
are many nearby restaurants and tapas bars.
At the end of this beach there is a fish auction held daily where fish is not only sold to local restaurants but provides the Japanese and other markets with the highest grade of Tuna This historic fishing method dating back to Roman times,is called 'La Almadraba'.
The Villa enjoys the distinction of being on one side of a ten minute drive from the large Spanish resort of Puerto
de Mazarron with it's marina, funfairs, numerous bazaars, a huge Sunday market , and superstores.
A 20 minute drive through the mountains on the other side takes you to the historic city, of Cartagena(the oldest in Western Europe) with its Roman Amphitheatre, and state of the art museums. 40 Cruise ships a year stop in Cartagena and the City is awash with tapas bars and eating establishments at every level of haute cuisine. It has one of the largest El Corte Ingles, department stores in Spain. Boat rides can be taken round the harbour on an hourly basis.
For more local shopping, a few minutes drive on either side of the property takes you to a fresh fish shop, a butcher's, baker' s, pharmacy, newsagent etc.
Near the villa, a picturesque drive up the mountains takes you to a large military establishment opened in recent years to the public. It is an exciting and free trip for all to see. The huge cannons placed there, pre- second world war, with their look-out towers identifying on wall diagrams the appearance of all Mediterranean traffic of the era.,German, British, American and Spanish, This whole structure on the cliffs is a Disney like fantasy, castellated and should be experienced.. Rumour has it that it will me made into a Parador Nacional
