Portokalia Villa is a superb holiday property in 'prime position' on the sought after 'edge' of the St Christopher's Village Development with wonderful views across to the hills, villages, orange and olive groves of this rural area. Sit on the balcony enjoying a glass of wine whilst watching the gorgeous sunsets over the mountains - often complimented by guests. The villa is only 400m-500m from the local supermarket, charming tavernas and bars in the village itself and a short drive to Mazotos or Anglisides where there is a wider selection of shops, supermarket, pharmacy, bars, restaurants and beaches.

Portokalia Villa is a modern 3-Bedroom property with chic interiors sleeping 6 in it's three en-suite bedrooms. We can, however, accommodate young babies in our cot-beds as we supply these free-of-charge to guests as well as high-chairs and stair gates if required. So if you had 6 adults and 2 babies in cot-beds, a total of 8 guests, this would be fine.

One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor (a double) which has an en-suite shower room and plenty of wardrobe space/storage and black-out curtains. Two further bedrooms are upstairs. The master bedroom has a double bed with en-suite bathroom and a large balcony that overlooks the garden and pool area and is a terrific place to relax watching the sun go down (or up!). The master bedroom has lots of storage space and wardrobes. The twin bedroom (also upstairs) faces the front of the property and has an en-suite shower room and again - plenty of wardrobe/storage space.

Downstairs is designed to maximise space and openess by incorporating a large, light and airy open-plan living area (lounge/diner) and a modern fully equipped kitchen. An added bonus is our Dishwasher!! There is also a handy additional downstairs cloakroom/WC. As mentioned previously - the 3rd double bedroom is downstairs with an en-suite shower room and the black-out curtains.

Patio doors lead you out of the open-plan lounge/dining area to the terrace and garden/pool area where you can jump in the pool and cool off from the heat of the Cyprus sun, or sit and relax reading a book on our sun loungers. We have a large table and chairs with a parasol for you to enjoy eating breakfast/lunch or dinner al-fresco! Or why not fire up the BBQ and enjoy an evening of burgers and beers!

Here at Portokalia Villa, you will experience the traditional Cyprus. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, olive groves, rolling hills, valleys and traditional Cypriot villages, away from the noisy, hustle and bustle of the busy tourist areas. Here you can truly relax, unwind and escape from the rat-race of every day life back home and enjoy quality time with your children, friends and family in a safe and welcoming environment.! Here you can experience the marvellous views, scenic drives, long walks, bike rides, jogging and the many archaeological sites that Cyprus' 10,000 year old history has to offer.

FLIGHTS

Larnaca is the closest airport.

Most UK airports fly to Cyprus. Larnaca airport is the closest to Portokalia Villa (approx. 15-20 minutes away). You could also fly in to Paphos airport but please be aware that this is further away and would take about 1½ hours to get to the villa by car.

CAR HIRE

There are a whole host of car hire companies to choose from. We point out the best ones in our info pack, so make sure you check these out when we reply to your enquiry. We even give you the links to their web sites to save you looking them all up! A car would be recommended here at Anafotida to enable you to make the most of the area and all it has to offer.

TAXIS

If you would rather have a taxi collect you from Larnaca airport, I can book this for you with the firm I have used for many years. They are very reliable and have never let me down. These pre-booked taxis are generally cheaper than jumping in a taxi that's outside the airport. Our driver meets you as you exit the arrivals hall - holding a sign with your name on and takes you straight to the villa.

This is a high quality place to stay in the quiet village of Anafotida a 20-30min drive from Larnaca airport. Our kids (8 & 6) loved the setting, especially the pool. All the bedrooms (3) have en-suite facilities and this is one of the best resourced villas we have stayed in. It was spotlessly clean. Easy to get about with a car, but local bus can take you to Larnaca. We especially loved the welcome and food at Cafe Aman in the village. The beach at Mazotos is great for sandcastle building in the early evening. Zophos the bakers in Anglisidies and the butchers opposite recommended. Water park in Ayia Napa – very hot - should have gone later in our holiday after we had acclimatised. Trip to Troodos was amazing though make sure your hire car can manage 1 in 9 hill climbs! We spent most of our time in the villa and the village with occasional trips out. Difficult to keep the kids out of the pool, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

ANAFOTIDA - the villa is only 200-300m from Anafotida, a traditional Cypriot village which is mainly agricultural, with tomatoes being a dominant crop. The village has seen a huge make-over of late with massive investment in its infrastructure. A charming new village square has been created with new lighting and pedestrianized areas with all the new paving extending outwards from the village centre. It is well worth a wander with a “refreshment” stop in one of the local bars or try a Meze in the popular Café Aman where Andreas and his wife will welcome you with open arms! There are 4 churches, 4 cafés (1 is a restaurant), a really good little village supermarket for all the essentials, a bank (no ATM though), a barber shop, a small hairdresser's and a garage.

ANGLISIDES - is about 3km from Anafotida and is slightly bigger with a number of cafés, 2 banks with ATMs, a lovely bakers and a great butchers shop opposite. There are 2 small garden centres and it also has 2 supermarkets with good supplies to save you going in to Larnaca.

MAZOTOS - located about twelve miles south-west of Larnaca town and 5-10 mins from the villa, is a traditional Cypriot village, again, primarily of agricultural nature with an abundance of Olive groves to be found in the surrounding area. Whist the village proper is somewhat set back from the coast, a few restaurants and even the Camel Park which is a very popular local tourist attraction (great for adults and kids alike), can be found closer to the seafront. The beach at Mazotos is only 10-15 minutes away where you'll see many people walking along the scenic walkway, fishing or sunbathing. The beach here at Mazotos now has a funky beach bar with sunbeds, tables, chairs etc. and a bit further along is the new Kite Surf school where some of our guests have had surfing lessons. There’s also another little gem of a local beach that we’ve recently found; not far from the villa at “Secret Paradise of Alaminos”. It’s well worth a visit and is very clean and tidy with good food and has been recommended by our guests.

If you're looking for something a little livelier than Anafotida, Anglisides and Mazotos, then LARNACA, with its vibrant nightlife, is only a 20-25 minute drive away. Alternatively, you could go in to LIMASSOL, which is slightly further along the coast in the opposite direction (approx 30 mins away). As with Larnaca, Limassol has a very varied and vibrant night-life being a popular tourist resort for many years and has a popular Water Park.

AGIA NAPA, PROTARAS and PERNERA are about a 45 minute drive along the A3 motorway from the villa. Here you'll find a multitude of attractions, beaches, bars, discos and restaurants. At Agia Napa you can also enjoy the fantastic Water Word Waterpark.

TROODOS MOUNTAINS - Located in the heart of Cyprus, the locals have christened the mountains a “Walker's Paradise” due to the vast array of fabulous trails. But there's no shortage of sporting activities for the energetic amongst you from skiing in the winter to paragliding, mountain bike riding, hiking, running and even rock climbing! There's also a multitude of sightseeing excursions in the Troodos Mountains. Take your pick from Byzantine Cypriot churches to the wine producing villages on the southern Troodos hills. Visit the Venetian Bridges near Tres Elias village or the village of Fini where you can buy some local handmade pottery. Or go and see the monks at the Kykkos Monastery. SKIING IN THE TROODOS MOUNTAINS - Skiing is usually available in the winter months from the beginning of January to the end of March. There are 5 slopes and 4 lifts (Hera, Aphrodite, Hermes and Zeus) and runs vary in ability for beginners through to advanced and they even offer routes for cross country skiers. You can hire equipment at the Cyprus Ski Club “ski shop”. Get there early though, as, on a busy weekend, the best equipment goes very fast!

  • The villa is rented on a weekly basis and prices are in £GB Pounds Sterling per week for the villa, regardless of the number of guests staying. We accept payment by cheque, direct bank transfer (in either £GB Pounds Sterling or €Euros) or credit card (via PayPal – additional fees apply).

    Price includes:
    - Clean, crisp bed linen on arrival day (and cot bed linen if required)
    - Bath and Hand Towels

    - Welcome basket (tea/coffee/water etc)
    - Cleaning on departure day

    - A very warm welcome from our fantastic on-site caretakers who will look after you during your stay

    We do ask our customers for a security/damage deposit of £300 (GB Pounds Sterling) to confirm your reservation. This will be returned within 2 weeks of check out. The rental fee is due to be paid in full 8-weeks prior to your arrival. We will send you an e-mail reminder about paying the rental fee at 12-weeks and another final reminder at 8-weeks.
  • Special rates are available for long term lets and at times when it's not high season and the villa isn't fully booked. Please always ask if there's any special offers at the time you wish to come.

    If your preferred dates are not available - please do contact us directly, as occasionally we have cancellations.
