Right opposite the park of Villa Groggia in the neighborhood of Cannaregio, one of the liveliest and most picturesque neighborhoods in Venice, Ca' dei Mori is a delightful apartment on the first floor of a typical little two-story Venetian house. Airy and full of light and sun, Ca' dei Mori is composed of a large living room with double sofa-bed, a modern kitchen, a spacious double bedroom, a smaller room with two bunk beds, and a bathroom with shower, and can comfortably accommodate up to 6 persons.Ca' dei Mori is equipped with air conditioning, dishwasher, washing machine, traditional and microwave oven, WiFi, satellite television, CD & DVD player, kitchen utensils, towels, table and bed linen.

Ca' dei Mori - How to get there : From the airport: Marco Polo airport is 12 Km by bus and 10 Km by water bus from Venice and is well connected to the city by public transport.

Alilaguna orange line connects Marco Polo airport to the centre of Venice. In 30 minutes you'll be to the stop of Madonna dell'Orto and, in 5 minute's walk, to the apartment. The boat timetable changes with the season, hence you are advised to check it yourself on the internet.

Bus no. 5 or 19 will take you to Piazzale Roma in twenty-five minutes, where you can take the water bus line 52 or 42 as far as the stop of Sant'Alvise (17 minutes).

From Piazzale Roma: get onboard water bus (vaporetto) n. 52 or 42, running every 10 minutes, and get off at the stop of Sant'Alvise (17 min) .

From the Railway Station: should you arrive at Santa Lucia railway station, take the same water bus line 52 or 42, coming from Piazzale Roma, always as far as the Sant'Alvise stop (13 min).

Ca' dei Mori is in the Cannaregio neighborhood, near Campo Sant' Alvise. The architectural composition of this pleasantly secluded area of the city makes it one of the quietest and most romantic places in all Venice. The stop of the vaporetto no. 4.2 for the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello and the no. 5.2 for the Venice Lido is just a few steps away. Crossing the bridge of the Malvasia, you find yourself on the Fondamenta degli Ormesini, with small restaurants, wine bars, coffee shops and cafes where you can find a whole range of food and drinks to make your visit to Venice thoroughly enjoyable. In fact, the location of the apartment is outstanding. Although it is within walking distance of everything, you’ll find it great to stay a little off the beaten track, to meet Italians and to pay reasonable prices in the local shops and restaurants.   • All the beds at Ca' dei Mori self-catering apartment are freshly laundered and made-up for your stay – just what you need at the end of your journey. In the bunk bed and double bedded rooms, the beds are prepared with sheets, blankets (quilts in winter), pillows and pillowcases. Additional blankets and pillows are available. Both sides of the double bed have reading lights and cabinets. Also available is a baby cot. All rooms are fitted with wardrobes, with plenty of hanging space, shelving and drawers. A quiet retreat in busy Venice

Ca' dei Mori is a delightful apartment - located in the far northwest of the city, it is nonetheless within easy walking distance of the major sites and gives you a resident's sense of this atmospheric corner of the Cannaregio district. The flat is simply but elegantly furnished and has a well-equipped kitchen (an early-morning trip to the Rialto markets is good for stocking up on an amazing array of fish and vegetables). A short walk along the Fondamenta della Sensa brings you to the remarkable Madonna dell'Orto church, Tintoretto's own; the small but vividly decorated Sant'Alvise church is right around the corner, as is the vaporetto stop; and there's a conveniently situated supermarket a couple of minutes' stroll to the west. Highly recommended for those looking for a quieter alternative to the crowded sections of San Marco, San Polo and Santa Croce. A family of four will do very well here.

This is a well-located apartment for the perfect visit to Venice. The reception by Sergio was very helpful indeed. He is an excellent host. The apartment was clean, well-equiped and comfortable. There is a vaporetto stop close by which allows easy access to Murano, the Lido, station, bus station, top of the Grand Canal and so on. It is also an easy walk to the Grand Canal, Rialto etc through Canareggio. The apartment was easily big enough for a family of five. We enjoyed out stay immensely.
Owner's Response: We try to do our best to make you feel comfortable like you stay at your home, so It is always a pleasure to see that a guest enjoyed his stay with us.

Vacation in Venice

My friend, her 12-year old son and myself stayed in this lovely apartment for our recent stay in Venice.
Our flight was delayed in Paris which meant that we arrived on Venice island late at night - advised the owner by phone and his lovely wife Lena met us at the vaporetto stop late at night and walked us to the apartment and explained where everything was.
Great place to stay as it is in a quieter area but so close to everything - vaporetto stop a couple of minutes walk from the apartment. Short ride to the main shopping area, train station, Piazza San Marco and also on the line for visiting the Lido. No restaurants or bakeries in the local vicinity but a very well stocked supermarket just a short walk from the apartment which was more than adequate for our needs. The apartment was a great place to escape to after the hustle and bustle of Venice.
The apartment was very private and quite large - more than enough room for all of us. Also had everything that we needed as far as supplies and equipment. The only downside was that it was very hot when we arrived and the air conditioning was not working. As a result we were bothered by the mosquitoes (due to a pesky hole in the insect screens). The apartment was also very clean and was exactly as described on the website.
We would certainly recommend this property to other travellers to Venice.

Light and space

This bright, spacious flat is carefully maintained by Sergio and has everything you need for a great self-catering holiday in Venice.

First things first. The flat is 80 m from the vaporetto stop. You go four stops from Piazzale Roma (if you arrive by car, air or bus) or three stops from the railway station. There are no bridges to cross, which counts for a lot if you have heavy suitcases.

Sergio will meet you with keys and show you around, adding his own charm to the charm of the flat.

The kitchen is well set up and better equipped than most. You are only a short walk from Ponte delle Guglie where you can find fresh bread for breakfast, fresh fish and vegetables from the open air stalls and most other necessities in the local shops. In an emergency, there is a supermarket close by. Or you can follow the example of the venetians and do your weekly shopping in Mestre, by train.

Cannaregio is the most friendly of the sestriere of venice, with many pleasant restaurants and trattorie within easy walking distance.

Access to the tourist heart of Venice is simple. Either take the vaporetto number 42 or 52 from San Alvise to Fondamente Nove or walk a little further the other way to San Marcuola and take the number 1 down the Grand Canal.

Whatever you choose to do, you are sure to have a good time.

Venice in May

We visited Venice in the middle of May and the apartment was very easy to find from the alilaguna stop at Madonna dell'Orto. We called Sergio and he met us and took us to the apartment. it was exactly as described and viewed on the website - clean, comfortable and with every convenience for our stay. There were mosquito screens fitted at all the windows which was marvellous, as you could have the windows open and not be bothered by them.

The location was ideal, being around a 20 minute walk to the Rialto, near enough to the centre, but far enough away to enjoy peaceful evenings. There were restaurants and bars nearby, though we cooked in the apartment most evenings. There was a supermarket a short walk away and Sergio gave us very good directions to find it.There is also a good bakery nearby with delicious bread.

We found that the best way of seeing Venice was to set out early in the morning before the other tourists, and watch it come to life - this was very special and we felt priviledged to see it this way. We would highly recommend a visit to Burano to see the coloured houses - much quieter than Venice and very charming. A visit to the Rialto market is a must, especially to buy food for dinner - the fish market was unbelievable ...

We would thoroughly recommend this apartment to friends and hope to enjoy another stay here before too long.
