Right opposite the park of Villa Groggia in the neighborhood of Cannaregio, one of the liveliest and most picturesque neighborhoods in Venice, Ca' dei Mori is a delightful apartment on the first floor of a typical little two-story Venetian house. Airy and full of light and sun, Ca' dei Mori is composed of a large living room with double sofa-bed, a modern kitchen, a spacious double bedroom, a smaller room with two bunk beds, and a bathroom with shower, and can comfortably accommodate up to 6 persons.Ca' dei Mori is equipped with air conditioning, dishwasher, washing machine, traditional and microwave oven, WiFi, satellite television, CD & DVD player, kitchen utensils, towels, table and bed linen.
Ca' dei Mori - How to get there : From the airport: Marco Polo airport is 12 Km by bus and 10 Km by water bus from Venice and is well connected to the city by public transport.
Alilaguna orange line connects Marco Polo airport to the centre of Venice. In 30 minutes you'll be to the stop of Madonna dell'Orto and, in 5 minute's walk, to the apartment. The boat timetable changes with the season, hence you are advised to check it yourself on the internet.
Bus no. 5 or 19 will take you to Piazzale Roma in twenty-five minutes, where you can take the water bus line 52 or 42 as far as the stop of Sant'Alvise (17 minutes).
From Piazzale Roma: get onboard water bus (vaporetto) n. 52 or 42, running every 10 minutes, and get off at the stop of Sant'Alvise (17 min) .
From the Railway Station: should you arrive at Santa Lucia railway station, take the same water bus line 52 or 42, coming from Piazzale Roma, always as far as the Sant'Alvise stop (13 min).
I came to Venice in 1968 to study foreign languages at the local University of Ca' Foscari and I literally fell in love with this town.
After graduation, with the exception of two years spent in London, I've always lived here: I set up my own business, I got married and had a girl who now is 20 and studies in Saint Petersburg, Russia....
Sergio purchased this apartment in 1998
I bought this property as a second house for my parents. I completely restored it, furnished it and made it comfortable to live in. They never wanted to leave their house in the countryside and move into it. That's why I decided to let other people to enjoy it... for a rent, of course!
As I said, this apartment is extremely comfortable, airy and full of sun, quiet and very well maintained, fitted with all you need to not regret your home...
The apartment is very well maintained, comfortable, spacious and fully equipped, up to and including 2 mocha pots and excellent coffee. Sergio is a welcoming and helpful host who lives nearby. The quiet location couldn't be more convenient: just 2 minutes from S. Alvise vaporetto stop and 10 minutes from the Orto Alilaguna stop (half hourly fast Linea Arancia service to Marco Polo airport). There's a good local supermarket about 5 minutes away, and a choice of excellent restaurants within 10 minutes walk. Rialto is a brisk 25 minute walk, San Marco a little further. We've been to Venice a number of times and this is by far our most comfortable and pleasant accommodation. No more hotels for us!
The flat is in a quiet residential neighbourhood, 1 min. walk from San Alvise vaporetto, with market stalls, shops & bars all in walking distance. The flat is comfortable, clean, pleasantly decorated and spacious, the kitchen very well equipped. Sergio, the owner, was very accommodating and helpful. The only minor niggle is that the sofa-bed mattress in the livingroom could be firmer.
We had a great stay and would certainly stay here again.
This was a great place to stay in Venice - walking distance to the main tourist sights and only a couple of minutes from the vaporetto. Maria met us and showed us around and Sergio visited during our stay. The flat is clean, comfortable, well-equipped and nicely decorated. St Alvise is the old ghetto and a quiet neighbourhood, compared to the heavily touristed part of Venice. It was easy to get anywhere we wanted to go, including the airport. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
We stayed here with our children for a week prior to Easter. The flat is exactly as described, very clean and next to a nice park. The area was very convenient to tourist areas and only a 2 minute walk from the nearest boat stop and local shop, but still in a lovely quiet neighbourhood. We didn't need much help from Sergio but he met us on arrival as planned and gave us all the info we needed.
this apartment has everything that you would require for a relaxing holiday.
what made it so special was that you were living among the locals and mingling in their everyday life. There is a park next door and you could hear the children and there was a lot of local activities in the park, including a live band on the Friday evening, but unfortunately we had pre-booked another event, but we were disappointed to miss it. Maybe next time.
The water bus was literally round the corner and if you wanted to walk into central Venice, it took about 15 minutes enjoying the scenery along the way, especially the local bars and shops.
There was a Billa supermarket that sold everything that you required and we ate in on a few occasions. The kitchen was well equipped and very clean.
the apartment itself was very clean and was home from home. We met Sergio and his wife and they were more than helpful... Sergio had quite a sense of humour! we would absolutely recommend this apartment as it has everything.... much better than a hotel...so if you are thinking of booking this apartment... think no more. Enjoy!
Our family of four stayed a week in this wonderful apartment. We cooked almost all our own meals, and found the kitchen well equipped for this.
The apartment was very quiet. I really mean that. There was no noise at night. It's the quietest apartment we've stayed in on this 3-month (so far) trip.
It was incredibly clean, and a really pleasant space. We loved watching the world go by from the windows, and putting the washing out on a line over the street was fun.
What made the apartment really exceptional was the location. I didn't think it would be possible to find a place away from the tourists, but in this neighbourhood we literally saw three tourists (excepting ourselves) in the whole week.
Instead, we were living amongst Venetian families, and that was perfect. Our 7-year-old tree-climber indulged his passion in the next-door park, and found many local playmates there. Having the swimming pool complex as a neighbour was also great. We made friends in the kiddy pool, and also loved watching a class of children make their way to the pool each morning.
There was a local market where we bought our food, so we didn't have to go down to the Rialto every day.
Sergio was prompt and friendly with all his communications, making the booking process really simple. We needed his help once during the stay. He answered the phone and gave us the assistance we needed Immediately.
We highly recommend this apartment, and if we're ever lucky enough to come back to Venice, we'll stay here again.
Ca' dei Mori is in the Cannaregio neighborhood, near Campo Sant' Alvise. The architectural composition of this pleasantly secluded area of the city makes it one of the quietest and most romantic places in all Venice. The stop of the vaporetto no. 4.2 for the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello and the no. 5.2 for the Venice Lido is just a few steps away. Crossing the bridge of the Malvasia, you find yourself on the Fondamenta degli Ormesini, with small restaurants, wine bars, coffee shops and cafes where you can find a whole range of food and drinks to make your visit to Venice thoroughly enjoyable. In fact, the location of the apartment is outstanding. Although it is within walking distance of everything, you’ll find it great to stay a little off the beaten track, to meet Italians and to pay reasonable prices in the local shops and restaurants. Venice is a uniquely beautiful city and your stay in this apartment will help you to experience a flavour of the real Venice.
