You will find a relaxing rural escape Downstairs @ Muirton.Our spacious self catering apartment occupies the whole of the lower ground floor of our Georgian country home. The apartment has its own access, two double bedrooms with views, cosy lounge diner with wood burning stove, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and separate cloakroom. Guests also have the opportunity to enjoy our gardens with woodlands, walled garden, paddock and burn. Use of the outdoor Scandi hot tub by arrangement. Ample parking space. We are only 15 minutes from Aberdeen city centre and 10 minutes drive to Balmedie country park and beach with its extensive dunes. Downstairs @ Muirton is ideal for family holidays, business travel and short breaks. We are 15 mins drive from Aberdeen Dyce Airport and 10 minutes drive to the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre. Within easy reach are the Cairngorms, the Castle and Whisky Trails and Royal Deeside.

The Granite City, The Energy Capital of Europe. Aberdeen offers all you would expect of a city plus a few surprises. The city boasts over a mile of sandy beach, Fun Beach offers indoor and outdoor attractions for all ages including The Grampian Eye big wheel over 100ft high. In Old Aberdeen you will find The Channory and St Machar Cathedral. The city also has many parks and along Union Street you will find great shopping and restaurants to suit all tastes. A few miles north will take you to Balmedie Country Park with dunes that stretch 14 miles from Aberdeen to just north of the mouth of the River Ythan at Newburgh. The area is dotted with National Trust properties such as Crathes, Fraser, Drum and Fyvie Castles, Haddo House and Pitmedden Gardens. Summer events include Aberdeen's Highland Games, BP Summer Big Screens in Duthie Park, Union Streets International Market. Try winter skiing in The Lecht Resort just over an hours drive or sample a dram on the Whisky Trail!

Having driven through the crowded, busy, roads of Aberdeen, it was with pleasure that we drove along the country road,and into the approach to Muirton House, a delightful looking Georgian House, set amongst tall trees,and pleasant gardens. On arrival we were met by the friendly; helpful owner, and shown into Downstairs at Muirton,which is very spacious,extremly confortable,and very well equipped. Nearby are the beautiful, deserted beaches at Balmedie,and beautiful scenery all around. All in all a great place for relaxation.
Owner's Response: We are delighted, here at Muirton, to be able offer a little escape from busy daily lives. The best recommendaton we can receive is by repeat bookings and as such look forward to welcoming back familiar guests as well as new.

PEACEFUL HAVEN

We have just returned yesterday after a most enjoyable week at Muirton House,I had my 9 year old special needs autistic grandson with us and he enjoyed every minute of his stay,the freedom of the grounds was a first for him, he is stuck behind a 6 foot fence at home for his safety, he enjoyed visiting the chickens every day and even wanted to take one home,anyone booking this property would not be dissapointed the owners have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable, we hope to be back at easter.

We spent a few days at Muirton House and were very pleased with the quality of accommodation. This is ideal for a small family/group. The owners made us very welcome, even bringing us freshly laid eggs from their own chickens! Great base to explore North East.

Relocation via Muirton House

The flat beneath Murton House does exactly what it says on the box. Being completely self-contained with absolutely every facility you could possibly require, and very comfortable too, Muirton House is a beautiful house set in gorgeous grounds.

The property is clearly very well maintained and spotlessly clean. Muirton House is a credit to the owners, a smashing family in the main house who are always extremely helpful and friendly who will never bother you (unless you request to be bothered). To give you an idea of how practical this accommodation is, I am a businessman and was fending for myself for two weeks prior to my wife joining me to complete our relocation. I have to admit that the flat was considerably more spacious than I had imagined, and better equipped than I could possibly have wished for.

I would most certainly recommend the basement flat at Muirton House be at the top of your list when checking availability of holiday lets. Although at the time I was working in Aberdeen and did not have time to venture away from the flat, I now live in Aberdeenshire and can promise you the scottish scenery is stunning. Muirton House offers you very easy access to the city of Aberdeen and the beautiful countryside. There is something for everyone, whether you enjoy the coast or prefer to venture inland to the Cairngorm Mountains, or wish to make the most of the city of Aberdeen.

I know that the owners will be very helpful and welcoming, making you feel very much at home. Enjoy your visit to Muirton House.

Muirton House

It's a lovely place to stay in peaceful, relaxing surroundings. The accommodation is very comfortable, extremely clean, decorated to a very high standard and well maintained with some lovely little touches provided by the owner. The use of the hot tub, at an extra cost, is recommended and well worth it. I certainly will be telling friends about this property and hopefully will be going again myself!
