Indre-et-Loire Vacation Rental cottage: Lublé

What a fantastic place to bring your family to enjoy a little French relaxation. At an easy 4-5 hour drive from Calais, not far from the main A28, we found the Moulin de Maulne to be in an ideal location. Once we'd unwound in the beautiful rural setting, we had fun discovering chateaux and gardens galore, great local markets, took part in a drop of wine tasting, had a steam train ride, visited a brilliant zoo... and feel that we only touched the tip of the iceberg in a 2 week holiday. The pool is gorgeously heated, and an excellent depth for good & less confident swimmers, and we found it hard to move out of the gardens on more than one day. Within a 5-10 minute drive the local town of Chateau la Valliere has a lovely bakery, and excellent butchers amongst several other shops. Mark & Corinna were always on hand to ask advice for good local restaurants, never intrusive and the Sunday barbecues were a lovely idea to informally meet other guests and super for children to mix together. The comprehensive welcome pack was very well received, and the beds are absolutely the most comfortable we have slept in during any previous visit to France - the whole property far exceeds any other gite we'd stayed in. Our two sons, aged 6 and 3 really enjoyed staying in the Farmhouse, and said they'd like to come back for 6 weeks next year - they'll have to settle for just 2!
