About The Owner
We have had this property in our family for three generations! It was purchased by Max & Viola Szetela in 1959, so that they could enjoy their summers on Forest Lake. In 1990, their son Bob took over the care of the cottage and converted it from a seasonal cottage to a year round home, so they could enjoy ice fishing, skating and winters on the lake. Now the fourth generation has begun to enjoy the cottage as well.
The Owner purchased this house in 1959
Why The Owner chose Winchester
Forest Lake provides the opportunity to 'get away from it all' while still being close to modern conveniences like restaurants, grocery stores and shopping. The lake is spring fed and stocked every year with trout for fishing enthusiasts. Our beach is sunny and warm, and the dock is perfect for fishing or soaking your feet as you watch the kids swim. On the beach sit and enjoy the sun or build a sandcastle (water toys provided).
What makes this house unique
Our home provides modern conveniences like a fully stocked kitchen, jacuzzi tub, high speed Internet and WIFI, convenient off-street parking, and incredible views from nearly every room. The 12x20 foot screened in porch overlooking the lake is perfect for an evening meal, playing cards, reading a book or just relaxing after a day of swimming. The 6x20 foot deck is perfect for morning coffee and watching the kids swim or the boats out on the lake. At night, enjoy the fire pit on the beach and roast marshmellows, tell stories and enjoy a cocktail as you watch the moon rise over the lake.
PLEASE NOTE: Nov. through March, no WiFi internet service and only basic cable TV.
Guestbook comments from the owner
Thank you for your prompt release of deposit. All of us truly enjoyed the stay at the place last week. Everything was as expected and the view of the lake and all the amenities were great and cannot forget very good fishing!!! It was very relaxing week for my family and everyone in my family really enjoyed the place. Additionally, the photo copy of true "catch and release" was quite a kick for us. Thanks!
