Lovely apartment well-suited for extended family

My husband and 2 small children, along with my mother- and father-in-law, brother-in-law and his girlfriend, spent a week here last month. It was fantastic. The location is excellent; a stone's throw from the Ponte Vecchio but situated on a quiet side street. We were right next to a tiny square with a couple of great restaurants and the best gelato we ate in Florence. An easy walk to all the major attractions. The apartment itself is a good size; not giant but after having stayed in a couple of hotels there in the past, this is a much more efficient and economical way to go (esp for a larger group). The master bedroom is a great size; my only issue with the second bedroom is that it is attached to the first. But there is a door separating the two; in addition, each bedroom has a door to the terrace so for people in the second bedroom, there is a way to get to the kitchen and living area without cutting through the master. The third bedroom is across the terrace so no issue there. The terrace itself was very cute; interestingly (for Americans anyway!) was that the washing machine is in a corner out there. It worked out fine since the clothes line is right there. My only issue with the terrace is that there are apartments with walkways above ours so occasionally people walked by. But we had no problems and it was never noisy. The only occasional noise was from the front door; people walking by etc but i thought it would be much louder given the amount of tourists in Florence. The kitchen and baths were in great shape. Our contact Francesca was very helpful, and the owner Alkan was very prompt in answering our questions. I highly recommend this apartment.
