Enjoy Cambria's numerous boutiques, gift shops, antiques stores and fine dining, or take a 10-minute drive to Hearst Castle. Smoking and pets are not allowed inside our home.

This home was perfect for our weekend getaway with friends. The view is terrific, the home is very clean and homey, and the location is perfect. There was lots of room for all 6 of us, and everything was clearly labeled and well explained. I would come back any time!
We had a wonderful stay in Cambria. The home is well equipped and maintained. The ocean views were wonderful. Listening to the waves was such a treat for us Midwest people! There was so much to do and see, and Greg restaurants. One weekend was not long enough!
Happily, Cambria Park Shores is not the name of a housing development as the name may imply, but a beautiful single unit house overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
The house is tastefully furnished, immaculate, and well-equipped. The en-suite master bathroom is large, light with a big walk-in shower. Of course, as other reviewers have noted, the location is perfect. The house is no more than 100 feet from the beach and the view is unobstructed. This view can be enjoyed from the floor-to-ceiling windows and the open kitchen. You can hear the ocean from all the rooms.
We did, however, have several issues with this otherwise perfect property. When we arrived I was surprised to see there were only 4 dining room chairs. Yes, there were 2 bar stools, at the counter, but they don’t make for very comfortable eating. We looked around, but only found the low plastic chairs outside on the decks, which I don’t believe the owner wanted to be brought in. I called the management office, hoping for a folding chair. Within the hour, someone arrived with a regular dining table chair, presumably from another property. I don’t feel it is unreasonable to expect 6 dining chairs at a property advertised for 6 people. That said, we were very impressed with how quickly the office responded.
The lack of outdoor space was another problem. The VRBO ad shows decks and balcony. While this house does have several decks, they are not very practical. The ones in the front of the house vary from no more than 2 to 3 feet in width. A wider one, off the master bedroom, is no more than 4 by 10 feet, not really made for a group to enjoy a drink outdoors. There is no other yard space at all.
Finally, we were disappointed in the grill. Our group looked forward to gather around a grill in the evening, and I would not have rented a house that did not have a grill, since we are apartment dwellers, and it is an opportunity we don’t often get. The charcoal grill is located off the garage in a narrow cement area that had all the charm of a back alley. In order to get to it, one had to carry the food from the kitchen, down the stairs, through the garage, and then out to the grilling area. We made do with this arrangement, but it was not the grill on a deck experience we were hoping for.
While not a deal-breaker, prospective renters should be aware of the limitations of the outdoor space in this property.
But, yes, we would return. Hearing the sound of the waves from our beds trumps everything.
What a perfect location! You walked in the door and felt you were at home. The views from the house were incredible and it was beautifully appointed and spotless! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Thank you for letting us rent your lovely home for the holiday. We just loved the location and being so near the ocean was such a treat for us. Also the house was very comfortable for the 5 of us, and a wonderful place to stay at this time of year. The house was very clean and well maintained, and we would definitely recommend it to our friends. The Pine Lodge was a great spot for Christmas Eve dinner, and the Black Cat restaurant was also excellent for dinner. We hope that we can do a return trip sometime. Happy New Year!!
We really enjoyed staying at the property. It has a wonderful view of the ocean, and all of the amenities needed for an extended stay. The location is perfect as it has beach access, and is right next to Shamel Park. We would definitely stay there again.
