We are the owners of two condos here and we manage it ourselves since we live on Maui. This is the reason we can offer you not only better rates than Aston charges their guests, but also a better service since we do not have to worry about all the other guests at this resort but only YOU... Our guest. You are important to US. You get to see beforehand the Unit and the views from the unit you will be staying in during your stay on Maui.

* That is less than $340 per person for a week long stay at this great resort hotel. ( based on occupancy of 6)

* Ocean Front 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms FIRST (not a ground floor) FLOOR UNIT 123 This is our most requested unit at PAKI MAUI. Great view from two lanais. Huge place at 1200 sq feet large. Before you book others check how big they are.

We can also offer you our three units at Kaanapali Shores with Ocean Front views at the front of the building. VRBO #118248, VRBO #118332, or VRBO no.67815. All two bedrooms, if this condo is booked we can accommodate you at Kaanapali Shores which is 3 blocks South of this Resort. We live on Maui year round and have been renting ocean front condos to visitors to Hawaii since 1996. We were one of the first to offer independently managed condos in West Maui offering our family oriented customers better prices than those offered through commercially managed units. We take great pride in offering the best locations for a great price!

Why Fred, Luba & Leah chose Kaanapali

We chose Paki Maui early in our condo investment program because we were able to offer a larger than usual two bedroom condo and a well positioned ocean front one bedroom and two bedroom unit on North Kaanapali Beach. The tsunami design of the building (first floor raised off the ground level) offered additional security from extremely high tides that can occur very irregularly. The stone structure is very solid and well maintained. We love it.

What makes this condo unique

We live on Maui in the Haiku area on the North Shore. When we need to relax and take some time off, we always try to go to one of our units at Paki Maui. We find this place very relaxing. The view from the unit is the closest one to the water's edge and you can hear the waves at night and go to sleep like a baby. Though Paki Maui is not air conditioned, the overhead fans and constant trade winds offer a relaxing atmosphere that we have come to enjoy. When one of our units is open you might find Fred or me there staring at the ocean or reading a book. We hope to meet guests of ours there when we visit Paki Maui Resort.

I used to think that the only way to experience Hawaii was to stay in a big resort-type place with huge properties and poolside drink service. Although there are some advantages to those resorts that you don't get with smaller properties, I am now a convert! I loved being able to walk downstairs with my own towel and grab a lounge either at the pool or on the grass by the ocean. I never had to get up at the crack of dawn to secure a lounge chair like I did in the big resorts. The unit (Paki Maui 123) is very close to the ocean entrance, easily accessible if you want to run back upstairs to grab a boogie board or a bottle of water. The views of the sunset were awesome from our deck. But, my favorite part was the 2 turtles that hung out on "our beach" every day! I rented snorkel equipment for the week (there is a Snorkel Bob's and a Boss Frog's within 1 block either way) and was so impressed with the things I was able to see right outside my door. I actually got to swim with one of the turtles on my last day.

The only reason I did not give this property an "Excellent" rating is because of the noise factor. The unit overlooks the pool which can get rather noisy at times. Since the unit does not have (or need) A/C, the doors need to be open for circulation. Unfortunately, this meant that we had to endure screaming kids several times (and for hours at a time) during our stay. Also, the guest room (2 twins) backs up to the loading/unloading area at the entrance to the complex so there is often a lot of noise as guests are arriving and departing which is especially annoying in the middle of the night! Again, it was necessary to have the window open for circulation because it was summer - this may not be an issue in the winter months.

All in all, we had a great time enjoying all that Kaanapali has to offer - love the boardwalk for running in the mornings (accessible near Kaanapali Shores from the street), access to restaurants, resorts and shopping.

Owner's Response: Luba and I are delighted you really "got" what Paki Maui Resort Unit 123 is all about. You don't have the crowds normally associated with Kaanapali Beach so you get to experience the true nature of Hawaii. Hanging out in the sun, swimming with the turtles and just having fun. There is people noise that goes with any condo environment but the pluses far exceed the minuses!

Perfect location - love to stay again.

This condo was perfect. Very roomy, safe, and clean. Grounds were VERY well maintained. Clean pool and jacuzzi. Nice sized grills out by the pool. Kids (14 and 11) loved the Farmer's Market across the street - we ate a lot of ice cream there. We sent them over to get snacks, tomatoes, etc. Also, within walking distance to ABC store, small restaurants, and a large grocery store. Views from the lanai were fantastic. Close to everything, yet far enough away from the high rise, crazy, crowded hotels. Staff was very helpful and polite. Snorkeling was surprisingly good out in front of condo...we saw little eels, lots of fish, and turtles right off the small reef. I didn't want to leave. We hope to stay again.

Marvelous time again!!!!

The 4 of us had a wonderful time at the condo again. Had to go to Emergency Room, 45 minutes away, because of extremely low blood sugar. Hospital staff was wonderful as were the EMTs who transported me there. Thank God, both hospital & EMTs took Kaiser insurance for the $4000 in charges!!! After that, I spent a lot of time on the lanais, just enjoying the ocean waves, palm trees, and flowers. Pool closed for tile re-grouting 2 days so made the trip to Hana & the winery! The Maui Tropical Plantation is open again & the restaurant serves lunch on the days that the tourist ships are in port! Love the macadamia cream pie ! It's a must!!! Maui had a brush fire (largest ever) that closed the highway for most of a day but Lahaina gained quite a few dollars with the tourists being "captive" so they all went shopping. The girls went down to a hotel & watched the cliff divers & we attended Old Lahaina Luau to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday. The weather certainly cooperated & there were just a couple of quick showers that didn't disturb our plans at all. Beautiful sunsets, every day!!!

I would recommend this condo to families or groups any time of the year. We have been there in June & July, I believe & we will definitely try to go back in the near future.

We recommend spending a day in Kihei, eating at Fred's (Mexican food). Great Safeway market there too! Of course, we loaded up when we got there at Costco which is a great money saver! Safeway in Lahaina is not stocked as well & many times, the shelves were bare of certain items, like soft drinks, bread, etc. If you go to Hana, make sure you stop at the ice cream shop about 1/2 of the way there. Very refreshing!

Farmers' Market across the street from condo which works out very well! Longhi's, in Lahaina, is a wonderful restaurant to hold a celebration. Caution - menu is ala carte & a little pricey but well worth it.
