Complete Disappointment

I would not recommend this property. I stayed for one month in September. There were several issues. (1) It was neat (ie, no furniture), but not clean. There was dirt on all surfaces. The couch was unpleasant to sit on because of the layer of dust that had accumulated on the fabric; the duvets were stained yellow; and when I arrived, because you must leave the windows open at all times if you don't want to suffocate (even in the bathroom), there was a layer of dirt and bugs in the tub. (2) It was incredibly small. You had to move the beds in order to close the doors to the bedrooms -- I was only one person and I cannot imagine four people staying there. I could barely walk straight inside the kitchen and with two people it was impossible to move inside the kitchen. The fridge is miniature and holds essentially nothing. You are constantly walking around furniture and it is very annoying to move around. The television is barely larger than a laptop screen. There were very few plugs free to charge devices. (3) There is no air conditioning and you must keep the windows open in the summer, which lets in many bugs. I was bit by some bug nearly every day, including a spider or something during the night which caused my eye to swell for an entire day! It is difficult to cool also because it faces the courtyard and is on the second floor ("first floor" for France). (4) I could not understand how to use the IKEA microwave/oven contraption and there were no instructions to use them in English. I had my Swedish friends attempt to translate the manual in Swedish and they were also unsuccessful in discerning it. (5) I had no internet for the last five days I was at the apartment, and there was no concerted attempt to fix it. (6) The owner demanded I pay via an international transfer, which was extremely difficult to pay from my bank in the US. She also put pressure on me to speed the payment when it was impossible to do so because of international regulations. (7) The apartment was hot, and especially bad considering it was September. I can't even imagine July/August.
The apartment has a good location, but that was not nearly enough to save it from the "deal with it" attitude I encountered or its inherent deficiencies. Spend more money and get something that will be less of a headache.

Unsere Wohnung wird unseren Gästen stets gereinigt übergeben, wir achten sehr darauf, dass der hohe Standard - die Wohnung wurde vor 12 Monaten komplett renoviert - beibehalten wird. Bisher wurden Sauberkeit und Ausstattung der Wohnung eher gelobt als bemängelt. Die Wohnung ist so ausgestattet, dass sie mit bis zu 4 Personen genutzt werden kann. Sie ist 48 qm gross, wir legen Wert darauf, dass dies überall kommuniziert wird.
Es ist richtig, dass es keine Air Condition gibt, sondern mehrere Ventilatoren. Auch diese wichtige Information kommunizieren wir im Vorfeld.
Wir waren überrascht über die Schwierigkeit, die Mikrowelle zu benutzen. Alle Gäste handelten das bisher ohne Probleme.
Die für die Überweisung des Mietzinses vereinbarten deadlines kommunizieren wir rechtzeitig, da der Eingang des Geldes eine Buchungsgarantie für unsere Gäste darstellt.
We are concerned about the dissatisfaction of the guest and would like to give the following comments:
Every guest arrives in a well-cleaned flat. We try to ensure the high standard of the flat by maintaining it well - the apartment was completely renovated 12 months ago.
The furniture of the apartment is adapted for up to 4 guests. We wouldn´t like to overcrowed it, but there should be all the items necessary for our guests.
We communicate the size of the apartment - 48 square meters - everywhere to make sure that the guests can imagine the available space in advance. Even 4 persons renting the flat were by now satisfied with the space.
The apartment has no air conditioning, but serveral fans. We communicate this as well in advance.
We are concernde about the problem with the Internet-provider and solved this by october, 22nd.
We were surprised about the difficulty of using the microwave. All the guests were using it so far without problems.
We communicate the deadlines for the moneytransfer in advance as this is a gurantee for our guests that we keep the apartment for them.
