Fethiye - Olu Deniz area Vacation Rental villa: Uzumlu

Villa of excellent specification and modern facilities.Good space and open layout.Immaculate,clean and fresh and all utilities available.
Down an off road track (need a torch-provided) but lovely and peaceful.(heels not recommended :*)
Locals (when you do see them) are friendly.A 5 min walk to the road ,to go uphill through the village (10 min) where you can walk up to a couple of local bars and eating houses.I was surprised how many English were there(wine house)and a few goods night were had by us all.(local red wine nice)
The villa was daily maintained outside and pool cleaned,local wildlife inc terrapins wandering the garden(they like cucumber) birds sang happily.
Privacy is good and neighbours very polite with a wave but keep to themselves.
The buses(dolmus)can be caught up the hill (10min max)by the Mosque but can be flagged down(bus timetable can be obtained from 2nd shop on the RHS on the hill) for trips into Fethiye and return times.-Please note the drop off point in Fethiye is 5 min away from the return trip,returns go from the bus stn only.
Trips to Fethiye is 20-30 min on bus and 45 to Ol Deniz -No big deal and taxi's are cheap too and available nr Fethiye harbour.
We hired a car and got used to roads fairly quickly, though did miss the odd turn.Driving not as bad as it looks as roads are wide and people move over -beep when overtaking and traffic light's are mainly adhered too.

A good overall experience if not wanting the hustle+bustle of a commercial bright light town.Not far away from most things a good place to slow down and switch off.

Recommended for a couple who want some peace and some easy evenings.

Tip-take some music/dvd's or a 3.5-3.5 jack for aux plug into stereo for ipod.

This was our first visit to Turkey and we absolutely loved it. The villa was lovely, just like home from home (only more spacious). It was so comfortable and within a stones throw from the nearby village. (We recommend the Uzum Ham restaurant for value and close proximity). We hired a car (much needed) and visited Calis, Fethiye, Olu Deniz and Hisaronu. All were wonderful. We really could not fault any of it - fantastic. There was plenty to do and we could have stayed much longer than a week. We would also like to thank the caretakers of the property for being so helpful. We loved our time at the villa and would definitely come again - hopefully for much longer next time.

We enjoyed our 2 week stay at Vine Villa. The villa was fully equipped with everything you need for a relaxing trouble free holiday. There were a few extra touches above and beyond what is expected. When we arrived the man and lady that look after the pool and do the cleaning had left the air con on in the living room for our arrival (nice touch, and very welcoming). A welcome food pack was provided consisting of eggs, milk, butter, cheese, orange juice, bread and a very large bottle of water, we found this very thoughtful as if this was your first time staying in this village at least you would beable to eat breakfast before going out to discover what was on offer in the village, we had stayed in the village twice prior to this visit, but none the less, this was a very thoughtful little extra. We took our own electrical adaptors, but they were not need as these were also provided (again another nice touch.) The villa was clean, well equipped and comfortably furnished. There was a good selection of DVDs, games, cards ect. The pool was a lovely place to sit round during the day, some inflatables were already in the pool for our use and the sun loungers set out ready for you to just stretch out on. The poolman was there daily cleaning the pool and attending to the gardens, a very nice man and very helpful. The road to the villa is a slightly bumpy and an unsealed road but this just adds to the rustic charm of the place. The villa has plenty of balconies and verandas to sit on during the day or evening, you are spoilt for choice. The villa is not as remote as it appears in the picture, its very close to the village but very quiet. A car is useful so you can go out and explore the area around, Calis being one of our favourites, being right along the sea front with plenty of bars and restaurants, The Orient Express being our favourite, fantastic food, pleasant and attentive staff and the owner Mehmet and his wife very nice people.
