my husband & i stayed at le maree for a week & then were joined by our friends the second week. the property is beautiful (inside & out)~the owners, joe & daniela could not have been more gracious~daniela met us & spent much time with going over everything, providing us with recommendations to restaurants, etc...~the caretaker on the property & his family were all incredibly helpful, never making us feel as though we were bothering them~the only issue we had was with the pools on the property (& the reason why we are giving them 4 stars instead of 5)~we were advised right away by the owners that the pools at that time of year (after the season), would not be taken care of of, so we could not use them-no problem-we decided we still wanted to rent this beautiful villa-however, the problem was that the water in the pools was stagnant & attracted so many bugs, making it impossible to sit outdoors & we had make sure all doors & windows were closed so the bugs did not come in the house~we were disappointed as we would of loved to be able to sit & enjoy the outside a bit more~the other "nuisance" was the noise going on next door-there was work being done on that villa & there was lots of noise all day long from the workers~our suggestion would be to drain the pool if it is not being taken care of & to inquire if there will be any construction work going on while you are there...having said all this, we would not hesitate to return to this amazing place & to recommend it to friends!!!

thanks a lot for posting your review on our property in Porto Cervo following your staying in October. We are sorry for the nuisances you are mentioning. About the work in process in the neighbor house I remember they had to intervene immediately to prevent further damages; there is indeed a rule in the residence that works have to be performed during Winter but in that particular case the Administration authorized the works due to the emergency of the situation. As far as the pool, as anticipated to you at the time of the booking, the pool is serviced from May to September and of course, when pumps are not operational, the water becomes stagnant just after few days. In this situation some bugs may happen. It seems that the pool has to stay full of water all the time and the process of draining the pool is done at the beginning of May before filling the pool with new water.
We are happy anyway that your review is overall a positive one and you would recommend a vacation at Le Maree
