POTSDAMER PLATZ SONY CENTER 1

I highly recommend this terrific apartment in the center of Berlin. Instant access to Potsdamer Platz U and S Bahn stations and several bus lines right outside your door. Easy walking distance to most main attractions: Brandenberg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, Gemaldegalerie. (Tip for the strong walkers - it only took us about 20 minutes to walk all the way to Museum Island). Excellent price, too; hotels across the street will give you less space for twice the price. A bonus feature - with so many hotels all around, it was very easy to get a taxi at all hours.

The pictures are accurate in terms of updated fixtures and modern furnishings. What can be a little tricky to tell - the apartment is a junior one-bedroom but the bed is set up in the living room and the table and chairs in the bedroom. It works out better because you get a king-sized bed and more space in the room you spend most of your time in. And we really enjoyed the extra room with the table and chairs. Two jet-lagged people don't necessarily have the same sleep schedule so it was nice to be able to sit and read (or take advantage of the free wifi).

The apartment is at the Sony Center and you do overlook that main plaza but you're high enough up that once you shut the windows it's quiet. I wasn't bothered at all, and I'm a very light sleeper.

Overall, a great place that I would stay at again. The only thing I could have asked for was a washcloth but that's an American vs European sensibility.
