This lovingly restored by us in 2011 house is located in a village, which consists of about 25 houses and many barns. In Castiel are almost exclusively Walser houses that are typical of the villages in Schanfigg. Although modern kitchens and bathrooms installed, and installed central heating and the electrical system was renewed, nevertheless, the typical character of a Walser house remained. TRANSPORT CONNECTION:

You can reach our house by car in about 15-20 minutes from the motorway exit Chur-Süd. This must be overcome to 85 curves 700 meters. The road, however, is very well developed and therefore easily navigable. Because of the height of a corresponding vehicle equipment with winter tires is like everywhere else in the Alps in winter necessary, but not necessarily a four-wheel drive

The public transport connections is due to the proximity to the Alpine city of Chur very good. It runs every hour a PO Box on the line Chur Arosa (bus stop 400 meters from the house), and the Rhaetian Railway Chur Arosa. The station is located about 1500 meters below Castiel in the village Lüen.

Eine sehr schöne Zeit in dieser Ferienwohnung!

Wir haben uns dieses Haus inklusive des Dorfes und der Gegend genauso vorgestellt und uns sehr in dieser äußerst liebevoll eingerichteten und sauberen Ferienwohnung wohl gefühlt. Die Vermieter waren jederzeit erreichbar, sehr nett und haben uns viele gute Tipps für die Freizeitgestaltung gegeben. Auch die Hausverwalter waren stets bei Fragen für uns da und sehr sympathisch. Wir können diese Ferienwohnung nur jedem ans Herzen legen, der ursprünglich restaurierte Häuser mag, die auch schöne moderne Elemente enthalten. Und die Berge in der Region Graubünden sind sowieso unglaublich beeindruckend! Bis zum nächsten Mal also...

Stilvoll, Liebevoll mit heutigem Komfort

Wir ein Paar hatten eine erholsame Woche in Castiel verbracht das Haus ist sehr gepflegt es fehlt an nichts bietet den Standard von Heute und ist trotzdem in seiner Ursprünglichkeit belassen.

Als Ausgangspunkt für schöne Wanderungen optimal , vor allem die Nachbarn und Landwirte in der Nähe sind sehr nett und auch deren heimischen Produkte sind sehr zu empfehlen.

Fazit, das Feriendomizil ist ideal für Paare und die kleine Familie.

Sehr schön!

Die Ferienwohnung erfüllte in jeder Hinsicht die Erwartungen. Alles war sehr sauber, sehr gepflegt, aber gleichzeitig auch sehr gemütlich und heimelig. Die Anfahrt zur Ferienwohnung war ziemlich steil, die Kupplung des VW-Busses qualmte etwas. Wenn man vorher einmal ums Haus geht, sieht man aber, dass "hintenrum" eine günstigere Zufahrtsmöglichkeit besteht.

Die Betreuung vor Ort war sehr freundlich.

Besonders gut gefallen hat uns die Fahrt mit der Rhätischen Bahn von Castiel-Lüen Richtung Arosa.

Wir kommen gerne wieder!

LOCATION:

The upper village of Castiel is 50-200 meters away from the road that leads from the historical episcopal city of Chur to an internationally renowned mountain resort of Arosa. Traffic noise there is around the house, therefore, only when cows or sheep of the local farmers to or from the Alp be driven, or early in the morning when the streets are exempt from the freshly fallen snow. Because of its location on the southern slopes high above the valley section has the house from morning to evening sun all year round, even in December and January. In addition, the village is almost always free from winter high fog, which usually brings the deeper layers of the Alpine foothills in the winter many gray weeks.

The climate is moderate mountain climate. Since the Schanfigger valley lies within the Alps between the great mountain ranges, it is compared to the northern edge of the Alps unexpectedly dry and sunny. In summer it is therefore quite warm despite the height above day, while the nights cool pleasant.

Other activities: in Arosa (25 minutes) Golf, Horse riding, paragliding, fishing, large ski area, snow shoeing in Castiel, winter hiking trails in Castiel and Aros

Ski: WINTER ACTIVITIES:

The closest ski area (Hochwang) is located above St. Peter about 10-15 minutes of Castiel. Here you go with a chairlift and one surface lift cozy up to a height of 2300 meters. The ski area is very sunny and is therefore recommended mainly from January to March. In the cozy ski lodge Hochwang you can order on the outside on snowy Alp near the hut in the warm hot tub bathe and enjoy the tasty cuisine according stylish with spectacular views. www. Within easy reach of each 30-minute or easily accessible by bus and train are the world-famous ski resorts Arosa at the end of the valley Schanfigger www. bergfex. ch / arosa, Lenzerheide south of Chur www. lenzerheide. com and Flims-Laax west of Chur www. alpine arena. ch. All these resorts are of international importance and offer every conceivable winter sports to the glacier skiing area in Flims.
