Dreadful experience, dirty flat unhelpful landlord

My review is as follows. The landlord was unhelpful and disinterested with MANY problems occuring.

- on night one I could not access the property for some time. The key had been left in an inaccessible area. When I phoned to complain the landlord did not offer to help, come over, completely disinterested and left me to sort out the problem myself.

- problems with windows which locked open - tried phoning landlord for help, he had switched his phone off and didnt respond to voicemails or texts. I had to get a fellow resident to help me with this.

- the place needed a deep clean.

- In particular the toilet was disgusting. The toilet seat needs replacing, there was ancient faeces on the join to the toilet itself. I scrubbed this area twice and still could not get it all off, it had obviously been there for a long time.

- Some of the bedding and towels were not clean or were marked. I left the valance and the bottom sheet in the second bedroom as examples of this (I did not occupy that room)

- the advert itself is deceptive. The flat is in a massive on a major road - this is unclear, as is how tiny the place is, the whole flat could fit into one largish room.

- the flats are also very poorly built so I was kept awake on a regular basis by crashing/creaking from upstairs or the incredibly loud whining & groaning of the plumbing from other flats.

I would not give this place a single star but unfortunately I have to. Overall a thoroughly unpleasant experience.

Me and my friend stayed for three weeks while we were working at the Botanic Gardens last spring 2010 and I felt right at home straight away there. It made our stay so much easier than say if we would have stayed at a youth hostel. Unbelievable to have apartement cleaned every weekend and new fresh sheets, a great livingroom, kitchen was well stocked and bathroom european standard. Adding to the excellence the owner is very nice and helpful.

FABULOUS!

My aunt and I stayed at the apartment for one week in August 2010. We found it very well stocked with kitchen items, etc, and was very clean. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and smelled wonderful and fresh! There was a lot of helpful information left in the apartment to read at your leisure regarding all the electrical appliances and the TV, etc. There was even tons of tourist information there, which we used almost daily. The location was good, only 1.25 pounds to take the bus and if you call the taxi listed in on the phone in the bedroom, it was only 3 pounds to go to the city centre. We did not find the closest grocery store (across the street) very helpful, but we went to Sainsbury's quite often which are located all through the city centre and the prices were very reasonable. All in all the apartment was FABULOUS and we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

A wonderful home-away-from-home

This is a wonderful place to make a base for exploring Glasgow and the surrounding areas. Quiet, clean, safe, warm and very comfortable, it quickly feels like home. With a dedicated parking space, bus stops just around the corner, or a 30-min stroll into the city centre, the location makes it very easy to get around. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. I originally booked for 3 weeks, but have decided to stay here for an additional month. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Glasgow centre is packed with activities, shops, restuarants, botanic gardens etc. And also has some of the best theatres, cinemas and museums in the UK. Glasgow is also close to some fantastic scenery at Loch Lomond in the Trossachs, Stirling Castle, the costal town of Oban, with regular crossings to the many west coast Islands.

Edinbugh is only 50 miles (1 hour) and the apartment is close to the M8 Motorway directly linking the two cities.

Also close to the Forth Clyde Canal which runs from Glasgow to Edinburgh and has recently been modernised. Great for walks, cycling or fishing. Comes with one private car parking space belonging to the apartment, great for hiring a car to tour scotland's attractions.
