Location and view were excellent, as described, but the unit was a bit more "tired" than the pictures and description suggested. Bathrooms were very nice, but the rest of the unit was not the same quality. Living room furniture should be updated, and carpeting is very poorly laid. Housekeeping could also be improved. Walls were scuffed, and kitchen walls were not clean. We actually found a very stale loaf of bread in one of the kitchen drawers and a piece of fruit under the living room coffee table. During the time of our visit, a number of adjacent units were undergoing renovation, resulting in frequent noise and construction vehicles both blocking the entrance and occupying parking spaces which should have been available to renters. Owners did send us a very helpful guide to area amenities before our arrival. At the price paid, we would not recommend this property to a friend or relative until renovation is completed. We were delighted by the nearby Freshfields Village, which offered nearby access to stores and some great restaurants. (We particularly recommend the salmon melt sandwich at the King Street Grille.)

Owner's Response: I'm very sorry our guests were unhappy about their stay. On Kiawah Island construction is only allowed during the off season so during January and February there can be work going on. It has to happen sometime. Our condo is an end unit on the top floor and is usually immune from construction noise, but...
Regarding the living room furniture, they're right it does need replacement. New furniture was ordered 4 weeks ago and will arrive the second week of April!
Living far away from KI, we always appreciate comments from our renters so we can correct any deficiencies. We will certainly be in contact with our housekeeping people regarding the inadequate job they did previous to these folks arrival.
