This unique and exclusive family villa, 'Lava Villa', was constructed in 1998 with volcanic rock. Built in the foothills, it is situated on one acre of private land with its own swimming pool. It's in an exclusive area of the island with spectacular views of the Natural Park, the sea, and Lanzarote. Lava Villa's master bedroom is en-suite with a bath/shower; and there's a separate shower. A safe is provided for your valuables. The second and third bedrooms (twin-rooms) have a separate entrance off the courtyard, and share a fully-fitted bathroom. All bed linens are supplied in Lava Villa. The kitchen is fully equipped.
Lava Villa does all it says in the photographs. It is a beautiful peaceful place to come to and recharge the mind and body. To sit by the pool and to hear nothing except the birds in the sky is just heaven.
Everything you need for a great holiday awaits you at Lava Villa.
We enjoyed our vacation at the lava villa, very nice and peaceful location, far from crowd but not far from anything but of course you need a car.
Franck and Mark were very friendly and helpful answering any questions. The solar system wasn't a problem we even let some lights on during the night for kids, used the wash-machine, coffee machine, etc everyday no special care and we never ran out of electricity, Internet was working perfectly, plenty of space in rooms, there are some of the best Fuerteventura restaurants near the villa, the surroundings were really beautiful with an almost 360° view all around from the garden. If one day we come back to this isle we'll probably come here again.
Do not assume anything will come as standard with this villa. On arrival we found no covers for the sun beds and no parasol to provide shade by the pool or anywhere around the villa. We emailed to ask where they were but the owner confirmed that he did not provide these. We are regular users of rented villas across France, Spain and the Canary Islands and found this villa to be dated in its appearance and upkeep. Examples such as every sun lounger was broken, the door to the villa caught on the floor when half open and would not open further, all the shower hoses had holes in them and water sprayed out of the showers flooding the bathroom - a few examples (of the many we found) of the need for more to be done to maintain this rental villa let alone justify the premium rental price we paid for this villa.
The villa is an Eco villa running on solar power only. We were told this would not effect our holiday, but found that even when we were careful with usage of lights and the TV, the pool filter had to be switched off. We then stopped using hair dryers which was not a popular move with my wife and two daughters.
In other rental villas we have always found that the technology such as the TVs and kitchen appliances to be modern, fans provided, cool boxes present for use on day trips and generally fixtures and fittings replaced when dated or damaged. This was not the case on this rental.
On a positive note, the location of the villa is stunning and it was very clean.
In summary, we will return to this island again (3 times so far) as it seems to have something for everyone - but we would not use this villa again.

Owner's Response: The guests might be a "little disappointed" but we are "very disappointed". with their review and feel that it is unfair.
On day three of their holiday we received an email listing a few issues and finishing with "I hope the feedback is appreciated and helps you to let your property" and then they post this review which will definitely not help us to let our property.
The email was received on the evening of day three of their holiday. We responded by email that same evening and arranged for Mark Ruston, our local representative, to call to the villa the following morning which he did.
On arrival Mark was assured that there was no serious issues and that the only thing that needed sorting fairly quickly was a new shower hose. On offering to get get one immediately Mark was told that it would wait until he returned to clean the pool two days later. Now nearly a month later it is "ALL the shower hoses had holes in them and water sprayed out of the showers (plural) FLOODING the bathroom"
These guests are totally unreasonable and prone to exaggeration.
They say "the pool filter had to be turned off". The pool pump was not turned off but Mark did reduce the number of running hours to a more than acceptable level to conserve electricity which is normal practice.
We are proud of the fact that Lava villa is solar powered and make no secret of this on this website. Before guests depart for Fuerteventura we advise them "to turn off all appliances not in use and to turn lights off in rooms not occupied. We have NEVER run out of electricity but it is advisable to be efficient" It is an ECO friendly villa and this has never been a problem for any previous guests.
They also say they "found the villa to be dated in it's appearance" which surely is a matter of opinion and not a reason to criticise the villa. The villa is a rural rustic villa and is decorated in a rustic style, but has all the modern appliances needed for everyday living. It is not a high-tech contemporary modern style villa which may be more to some peoples taste.
There is no hidden agenda with this villa as everything is as described on this website and in the photographs provided. We would suggest to anyone considering renting this villa to read the other reviews before making a decision.
I stayed in Lava Villa from the 3/11/13 to the 27/11/13. This villa is not too long a distance from the beautiful town of Corralejo. Once you arrive at the villa you will be greeted by the fantastic view from the mountainous region where it is situated all the way down to the ocean. The villas rooms are very comfortable and are cool during the day which offers a break from the sun. The pool here is quite refreshing and is a great place to swim or to just lie down and chill for a while. Though it is not in the centre of all the attractions it is a great place to come if you just fancy a break away from it all.
We found this villa fairly last minute. I was going out for a bit of surfing. Frank was really helpful in helping us organise and very accommodating on dates etc. The villa was just as described and just what we needed. It is in a great location for being away from the hustle and bustle of the towns (if you can call it that) but near enough to be on the beaches in no time. personally i loved the look of it built from lava rock and whilst its not the most modern villa it is really well kept and it met our needs perfectly. the grounds are huge compared to other villas ive stayed in and the pool was a good size too. The eating outside area is superb and private. What can i say....if you are looking for a well kept sizable villa in a relatively secluded location with good access to corelleco, the North shore and el cotillo. youve found it! You will need a car though...loads of aloe vera for the sunburn and or reef rash in the garden also!! If i can get the time off ill be back there for sure!
Our stay at Lava Villa was one of the nicest and peaceful holidays we have had for a long time. Situated in the shadows of long extinct volcano, it draws you into a peaceful and tranquil state. The silence is broken by the bells on a goat herd nearby or the birds circulating overhead. At the end of the holiday you really feel refreshed and relaxed.
The villa provides all that one needs on a holiday - a home from home. Beautifully laid out and clean with excellent instructions and advice in booklet form on what to see and do in the local area and on the island itself. There is even a good supply of books to read when chilling out! Eating out is excellent with some very good restaurants not far away in Villaverde or BBQ by the pool is another option. Will definitely be back for a return holiday. Ros Brien
Visiting the villa is like taking a step back in time as it is built in traditional Canarian style but yet has all the modern conveniences. Part of its uniqueness is the fact that it is powered by solar & wind energy which allows the views to remain unspoilt by telegraph poles and pylons. Holidaying here you feel totally in tune with nature. On opening the door to the villa you enter an enclosed courtyard and colourful garden. The courtyard is terraced and the doors to the various rooms lead off the terrace. The villa boasts three generous sized bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully fitted modern kitchen, a large lounge/dining area and a garage for all your surfing equipment. All rooms have rustic timber beams on the ceilings and the Master Bedroom is en-suite. The enclosed courtyard allows you to sunbathe in complete isolation and is the perfect place for children to play safely. The only sounds you will hear as you relax will be the clink clank of goat bells as they graze in the hills.
