10th Arrondissement Canal St Martin Vacation Rental apartment: Paris City

Excellent 2 bedroom apartment very close to gare du nord for eurostar and metro lines. The location was great with local shops and bars/restaurants close by. Also nice to walk along the canal to Republique. The apartment was fairly small - fine for 4 adults but 6 people would be a bit of a squeeze particularly with the small kitchen and bathroom. It had all the facilities we needed.

This is definitely a great way to live like the Parisians do.

We stayed at this property in early September. It's very well situated (close to Canal St. Martin) and a 5 to 10 minutes walk to Metro stop Chateau Landon (7), Gare de l'Est (Metro 4, 7, 5), Gare Du Nord (Eurostar) and Magenta (RER E). We found the area safe and well lit for walking very late after sightseeing as there are many people about with the many cafes and restaurants in the area.

The apartment is as it's described...clean, spacious and the kitchen was well equipped. This is a great location for everyone; the budget conscious tourist wanting to experience Parisian life or stay away from the very expensive "touristy" areas. Well suited for two or three people comfortably. Small issue with the TV & DVD players....if you plan on using them have owners demo both (DVD player & TV stations) if possible. Also, the dishwasher and washing machine (a very nice perk) was in French (English translation would be ideal for English speaking guests).

One of the big selling points, in our opinion, is the patisserie right across the street (for fresh baguettes every morning..YUM!). Shopping for food and snacks was no problem as there are a couple of supermarkets and mini-markets within 5 minutes walk.

All in all, we had a great time. The owners are VERY nice and available via phone if needed.

We exerienced the real Paris by staying here. It was nice not to be in a hotel so that we could watch Parisan life on the street. The unit was spacious enough to accomodate two adults and two boys. It was clean, quiet and the kitchen well supplied. Looked just like the pictures.

There were food stores of all varieties close by and a metro and two major train stations within a 10min walk. We felt safe walking in the area at night as there were always people out on the streets until very late because of the restuants and cafes in the streets below use. The canal was a lovely place to walk. Across the canal was one of the free bike rental stops.

We would come back again.
