There is an approx 85sqm large, centrally located, beautifully furnished apartment for 1-5 (+3) eople in the first floor of a stylish apartment building.
Can be reached on foot within a few minutes walk from both the Schönbrunn Palace, the park, etc. as well as the zoo.
The apartment boasts one hand by their particularly convenient location (close to U4, bus stop right outside the front door 9A), the other by a good infrastructure of bars and shops for all daily needs in the immediate vicinity.
Due to the excellent metro links (5 minute walk) to the center in about 10 minutes, z. B. Inner City (Stephansplatz, Kärntner Street, etc.).
We spent 10 days in this apartment in September 2014.
The apartment has plenty of space to accommodate at least four people, the kitchen is small but well appointed, bathroom has a great shower but it's very small.
The apartment is close to Schonbrunn Palace ( 8 min walk) and public transportation is fairly close . If one knows that bus 9A runs during the week until 20:00 pm , Saturdays until 18:00 pm and doesn't run on Sundays then one is all set . U4 subway is 10 minutes walk away but when you have luggage is good to know that you can reach the by subway and bus. Unfortunately this valuable information is not offered by the owners and it makes things more complicated than they should be.
In general we enjoyed our stay but there were some things that need to be attended to.
I have emailed the owners but there was no reply from them... Once you paid you are on your own!
The following email was sent to the owners
There are couple of things that made our stay less enjoyable :
The apartment is very dark and many light bulbs were missing Luckily we had a flash light we could use when operating the appliances.
The paint is chipped and gives a run down feel to the apartment .
There are NO instructions available in a visible place for the washer/dryer so, as many other guests before us , we ruined a load of laundry! Again, luckily , while trying to find room for our clothing in the crowded wardrobe, we found the instructions for the washer. Some other guests were not that lucky.
There are couple of broken glasses in the windows.
There are many dishes , cutlery, pots and pans. But the pots are really tired and the non-stick coating is really scratched .
The furnace was leaking while the heating was on. Again, there are no instructions for the furnace either.
Would have been very helpful to have basic supplies such as toilet paper, paper towel , plenty of dish washer detergent, laundry detergent, salt , pepper, oil etc. I am sure that guests would happily pay an extra charge to have all that readily available upon arrival, especially if they arrive in the weekend.
All that being said, we enjoyed our stay in Vienna. A special note about the gentleman who checked us in who was very gracious and helpful , drove us from and to the airport and despite the lack of English we made due using our high school German and French
We spent three nights at this apartment in May and found it just perfect! The apartment is very close to Schonbrunn so we walked there the first day, and a short walk to the U-bahn stop for connections elsewhere in the city. The apartment has lots of style and charm and is on a relatively quiet street. We appreciated the upgrades to the apartment: the bathroom is remodeled and the shower was fantastic. The kitchen appliances were modern and the coffee maker was fantastic! The man who checked us in didn't speak much English so we communicated in French, and perhaps I didn't get all the instructions I needed. One suggestion: have a folder that tells how to work the washer/dryer combo (totally messed up a load or two) and also how to work the heat (got it to come on for a few hours, there is more to it than just turning the steam "on") but these were minor problems and I would absolutely recommend this apartment to everyone and absolutely would stay here again. One more suggestion: provide more than one roll of TP for the guests arriving, we were there over a weekend and failed to get to the store in time and had to "make do" until Monday morning. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of closet/storage space and the apartment was large with bedrooms on opposite ends of the apartment, we had plenty of room. There was a flat-screen tv with cable and the wifi worked with no problems, also an ipod player in the dining area. Handling the payment and booking this with the owner was so easy and stress-free, he replied promptly to my emails and I will definitely look for other apartments he rents in other cities. I've stayed in several apartments in Vienna and this is the only one I would consider returning to!
This was a really nice apartment. It was clean and well-kept. The woman who checked us in really didn't speak English at all so we had to rely on our high-school German. Come with a few phrases ready to go. We really enjoyed our stay.
The #9 bus takes you directly to the apartment--except not on Weekends. We learned that the hard way. The subway is somewhat close, but it is still a long walk if you have luggage to lug around like we did.
Another word of warning. If you are not used to the washer/dryer combo machine, don't attempt to dry your clothes. Washing them works well, but we absolutely ruined two nice shirts during the "dry" (or should I say bake) cycle.
We loved the concert at St. Anna's church. They play Vivaldi's Four Seasons and a few other works. The church is small and ornate. We got to sit on the front row because we arrived about a 1/2 hour early (there are no assigned seats). The concert was absolutely magical. It was as if they were playing to just our little family. There are 5 string-players and the sound is incredible. We are so glad we didn't go to one of the more touristy concerts. It was the highlight of our trip. The dress code is casual.
The apartment has a good location. Close to the subway. Very clean and comfortable, equipped with everything you need, including washing machine with dryer, iron and coffee maker. Suitable for two families. Reasonable price. We heartily recommend it.
Good location with bus connection to the U4 subway line but we walked also, within walking distance from Schoenbrunn Park. The apartment was clean, the equipment is quite new and functioned perfectly. We really appreciated the friendliness of the receipt - very prompt on a bank holiday, as well as the effort of accomodating us with a toddler below 2 (bed and high chair brand new provided)

Also you can reach on foot in just a few minutes walk from both the Schönbrunn Palace and the Tiergarten.
