The Mulino Rotone is an ancient stone building dating from the 16th Century, one of the oldest buildings in the area and the oldest oil and flour mill in the region of Castagneto-Carducci. The spacious house belonged to Count Gherardescas housed in ancient times five peasant families who operated mills and agriculture. Today, the Mulino Rotone is owned by the German painter and author of Karin Jutrzenka Trzebiatowski-Gilliam who lives year-round in the beautifully restored country house and is the contact for their guests. The house comprises five uniquely decorated apartments of various sizes, as well as two guest rooms. They are lovingly restored, the charm of the old wooden beams, vaulted ceiling and terracotta floors remained. In Mulino Rotone is a 120 sqm large room with vaulted ceiling and excellent acoustics for concerts and festivals. The most beautiful country house has been described in several art books and articles.
The house is situated in the conservation area of ??Castagneto, in the Alta Maremma, between the picturesque and famous medieval town of Castagneto-Carducci, who is seen in less than 1 km away on a hill, and the Ligurian Sea: 56 km south of Livorno, 50 minutes from Pisa airport. The building is surrounded by a large garden with many flowers, oleander, hibiscus and laurel hedges, cypress and palm trees, adjacent to a small orchard, an olive grove and miles of cork oak forests. The location is quiet, a private path to the property. There is no through traffic. Garden and terraces are equipped with plenty of loungers, deck chairs, dining tables and barbecue grills. The system of the house is angled so that the guests do not bother each other.
