The Mulino-Rotone is an ancient stone building dating from the 16th Century, one of the oldest buildings in the area and the oldest oil-and corn mill in the area around Castagneto-Carducci. The spacious house belonged to Count Gherardesca and housed in the old days five farming families operated the mills and agriculture. Today, the Mulino-Rotone owned by the German painter and author Karin von Trzebiatowski Jutrzenka-Gilliam, who lives year round in the beautifully restored country house and service for their guests. The house includes five individually furnished apartments of different sizes, plus two guest rooms. They are lovingly restored, the charm of the old wooden beams, vaulted ceilings and terracotta floors remained intact. In-Rotone Mulino is a 120 square meter hall with excellent acoustics for vaulted ceilings and concerts and festivals. The most beautiful country house has been described in several picture books and articles.
