This wonderfully sunny holiday apartment is located in Kinsale's prestigious Ardbrack Heights in the village of Scilly, a ten-minute walk outside the town of Kinsale. The huge floor to ceiling, wall-to-wall windows allow amazing sea views from the master bedroom (breakfast in bed with a sea view!) and the entire sitting room/dining area. Outside, the sheltered balcony, which runs the entire width of the accommodation, is perfect for a relaxing drink whilst watching the sunset or the busy harbour activity. The two bedrooms sleep four comfortably and the newly refurbished modern kitchen is fully fitted and ideal for a self catering holiday. The only sounds you can hear from this property are on the water or the bird song, yet a short ten-minute stroll brings you into Kinsale centre. Kinsale is a popular holiday resort for Irish and foreign tourists which is known for its many gourmet restaurants and excellent leisure activities including yachting, sea angling, and golf.

It is hailed as the gourmet capital of Ireland, with no shortage of pubs and restaurants to suit every taste. However relaxed or active you wish to be on your holiday Kinsale allows you to take things at your own pace.

Kinsale History: The Battle of Kinsale, fought in 1601 between a combined Spanish, an Irish force and English armies, was a turning point in Irish history. See also the old Courthouse, now a museum; St Multose Church, built in the 13th century and still in use, and 'French Prison', the 16th century Desmond Castle. There is a signposted tourist trail to this fascinating town with a guide booklet. Take a trip too to the Old Head of Kinsale for magnificent cliff scenery. It was off here that the Lusitania was sunk in 1915 with a loss of over 1,500 lives.

My wife & I can not say enough about our stay in Kinsale. This property is truly the ideal location. An easy & pleasurable stroll into town center, to Charles Fort, fine restaurants, pubs, etc. The Spaniard (a wonderful traditional pub) is a very short walk away. It's a fun place to enjoy traditional music, a few pints, and meet great people. The views from this property are absolutely amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed sharing a bottle of wine, and great conversation while looking out over the harbor and town center from our balcony. The property has all of the comforts of home...but better! For convenience the Super Valu grocery will deliver groceries to your door if you spend 40 Euro or more, a cab ride from town center is only 6 Euro, and did I mention the Spaniard is just a few steps away? Minnie Lucey (the owner) kept great communication, provided us with every piece of information we could possibly think of, and was even kind enough to leave a few groceries for us to enjoy upon our arrival. Thank you Minnie! Try this location! You won't be disappointed! As you can probably tell by the length of my review, my wife and I can't say enough about our stay. By far (without exaggeration) the BEST vacation we have ever taken! Kinsale is such a beautiful place, and a stay in this property allows you to enjoy it's beauty even while you are indoors. We will be back.

Excellent Apartment

I frequently visit Kinsale for the jazz festival and was looking forward to staying with friends again this year. This apartment is fantastic. The location is a short distance out of town but a nice walk. On our first night we strolled down to the Spaniard for a quiet drink. The trad session that started only added to the experience. This apartment is stylish, very clean and has fantastic views. You can lay on in the master bed, pull back the curtains and watch the world go by. Heaven! Everything was laid on so that it felt like a home from home. The owner was excellent to deal with. Prompt, efficient and informative. Kinsale is a beautiful town and well worth a visit at any time of year. Local restaurants of note - Fishy Fishy and Jim Edwards. A drive out to Clonakilty (45 mins away) is also recommended - if only for their famous black & white pudding. We''ll be back next year.

A wonderful stay in beautiful Kinsale

My husband and I had a totally chilled out week in Kinsale. The apartment was perfect, open plan and spacious. It was spotlessly clean and the welcome pack and cleaning products available was first class. The view was amazing, even better than I had thought from the pictures. It is on a hillside, but do it in a gentle stroll and look at the view/big houses and it soon passes. We loved Man Friday's restaurant (expensive but total quality [try the crab au gratin]). Bulman pub very relaxed and wonderful food and the Fishy Fishy cafe was delicious. Locals very friendly. We will certainly come back and definately recommend it to friends.

Cracking stay in Kinsale!

Our stay at Ardbrack Heights was extremely enjoyable, mainly owing to the fantastically comfortable apartment. Not only spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished in a contemporary style, but with a thoughtful welcome pack (free of charge!) and all washing/cleaning requirements waiting for us, we couldn't have asked for more.
The view really is spectacular, by day and by night! There are some good bars and restaurants very close by and despite its elevated position, it's easy enough to walk down (and back up!) into the town to explore further.... especially 'Crackpots' - a superb restaurant.
We would heartily recommend this apartment to those looking for luxury, style and comfort in Kinsale and will certainly re-book if we visit the town again.

A really great apartment with stunning views exactly as described. It is clean and modern and has everything you need for a self catering holiday. The only thing I would comment on is that there is only a 2 seater sofa in the lounge and as the flat can accommodate 4 adults further easy seating would be helpful.
The town of Kinsale is a 10 to 15 minutes walk away but it is uphill coming back. There are 3 restaurants a 5 minute walk away - including 1 very expensive one (I would recommend the Spaniard). The town itself has plenty of choices for eating.
I was delighted with this property and the service provided by the owner whose information book in the apartment was very useful. I would certainly recommend this apartment.
