KINSALE, 2 BED HOLIDAY APARTMENT, STUNNING HARBOUR VIEWS

Kinsale Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Kinsale, Ardbrack Heights, waterfront, large balcony 2 double bedrooms

This wonderfully sunny holiday apartment is located in Kinsale's prestigious Ardbrack Heights in the village of Scilly, a ten-minute walk outside the town of Kinsale. The huge floor to ceiling, wall-to-wall windows allow amazing sea views from the master bedroom (breakfast in bed with a sea view!) and the entire sitting room/dining area. Outside, the sheltered balcony, which runs the entire width of the accommodation, is perfect for a relaxing drink whilst watching the sunset or the busy harbour activity.

The two bedrooms sleep four comfortably and the newly refurbished modern kitchen is fully fitted and ideal for a self catering holiday.

The only sounds you can hear from this property are on the water or the bird song, yet a short ten-minute stroll brings you into Kinsale centre. Kinsale is a popular holiday resort for Irish and foreign tourists which is known for its many gourmet restaurants and excellent leisure activities including yachting, sea angling, and golf.

Kinsale - sedate: Not only does this town lay claim to being the oldest town in Ireland, but it is also renowned internationally for the number and quality of restaurants in the town. It is hailed as the gourmet capital of Ireland, with no shortage of pubs and restaurants to suit every taste. However relaxed or active you wish to be on your holiday Kinsale allows you to take things at your own pace.

Kinsale - Active: Sailing, Harbour Trips, Fishing and whale watching, Golf, Horse Riding, Shooting, Archery, Paintball, Windsurfing and water sports - Walking and Historical Visits - Museums and Forts Leisure - Pottery Workshops - Readings - Taxi and bus tours.

Kinsale History: The Battle of Kinsale, fought in 1601 between a combined Spanish, an Irish force and English armies, was a turning point in Irish history. The harbour is guarded by two very fine star-shaped fortresses built in the 17th century: Charles Fort is well worth a visit (guided tours). See also the old Courthouse, now a museum; St Multose Church, built in the 13th century and still in use, and 'French Prison', the 16th century Desmond Castle. There is a signposted tourist trail to this fascinating town with a guide booklet. Take a trip too to the Old Head of Kinsale for magnificent cliff scenery. It was off here that the Lusitania was sunk in 1915 with a loss of over 1,500 lives.

What an absolute treat to stay in this apartment. We have been to Kinsale many times and always took a photograph from the road at the back of the Ardbrack apartments. To spend a week waking up every morning to the ever changing, beautiful harbour was a real treat. The apartment was spotlessly clean, well equipped, comfortable and such a good location. With such a commanding view there is a price to pay. Our party were all of medium fitness and we managed the climb up the hill with no problems. The town itself has lots to offer people of all ages and interests. In summer it is always busy with lots going on in the pubs and in the harbour. Parking is difficult so if we didn't fancy the climb back home or had shopping to carry we took the car and parked it on the harbour side at the bottom of the hill where spaces were always available. Minnie was helpful and accomodating and a pleasure to deal with. We loved it so much we are planning a return next year. Can't recommend it highly enough. A superb week was had by all four of us. The only problem was fighting over who had the bedroom with the view. We lost - but next year....

Kinsale has always been a favourite holiday destination of ours and this apartment is is without doubt the best we have stayed in. The estuary and harbour views are spectacular especially in the early morning sunshine which we were blessed with for the entire week.

You are close enough to the town, although after eating out (Hoby's a particular favourite) a taxi was needed to get back up the hill, the Spaniard is close though and has a good pub menu.

The apartment is spacious and well equipped the WiFi was faster than I am used to at home, only complaint I never found the remote for the satellite TV, still with that view who cares.
Owner's Response: We never found the tv remote either, so it has been replaced!

This is a fab place to stay in Kinsale - the view is fantastic and is interesting all day long. The apartment is quiet and clean and the beds are really comfortable. An easy walk to town, restaurants and pubs. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful week in this apartment with the most beautiful views of Kinsale. My mother's family hail from here and so the town has always had a place in my heart. Ardbrack Heights is a spectacular location with easy walking access via the lower road to Summercove and Charles Fort and in the other direction to the town centre and harbour. We only used the car to explore further afield in West Cork. We enjoyed fabulous food at Fishy Fishy (twice!), Jim Edwards and The Spaniard. Given the horrendous summer we are having even the weather was kind with the rain only ruling out play for one morning. Thoroughly recommend the Old Head at Kinsale for bird life and we also spotted a basking shark. The welcome pack was a nice touch. Would love to return one day.

We stayed at the apartment in the last week of August and had a brilliant time. The apartment is in a great spot above kinsale on the Scily side of town which is great for walks - the stairs at the side take you down to lower road where you can walk back into Scilly or out to summer town and James Fort.
There is secure gated parking with a zapper for ease of access and it means that you can take your car down to park on the least busy side of town. Kinsale is notorious for traffic and zero parking spaces!
The Spaniard ( best pub in Ireland!) is within easy walking distance as is the Man Friday ( a very good restaurant) but even better food awaits you down in town at places like Jim Edwards and the exellent Fishy Fishy Cafe.
The apartment itself is modern well furnished and very comfortable with everything you need for a great holiday but best of all are the views- oh those views! We sat out every morning for breakfast watching the boats come and go, for mid morning coffee when we were there, and pre dinner drinks on the balcony watching the yachts out sailing. It's impossible to get tired of the views from this apartment.
Renting it was simplicity itself with Minnie organising everything ( even down to a bottle of cold wine in the fridge when we arrived. We loved it, and plan to use it regularly for as long as Minnie wants to rent it.
A word of caution - Ardbrack Heights does have quite a few steps and steep slopes so getting to and from the apartment is not easy if you have difficulty walking or have very small toddlers. For anyone else it's the perfect place to stay to see a very special Irish town.
Thanks Minnie for a great holiday.
