Gourmet Olive Break: Each November you can take a fully inclusive 4 day break designed to give you a fascinating introduction to the autumn highlights of Le Marche. With the backdrop of the olive harvest you will gain an insight into the cultivation and production of the finest olive oils whilst enjoying delicious regional dishes at a carefully selected range of restaurants. The weekend includes an afternoon at an award winning vineyard where you will be introduced to top Marchigiani wines and learn about their production. You will spend a morning cooking with top academy chef Guida Stacchietti and eat your gourmet lunch at the eclectic Il Maniero art club. Apartment Leopardi is one of 6 self contained apartments in a large converted farmhouse. It is a very spacious apartment with beamed ceilings, tiled floors and stunning views over the surrounding countryside. It has a large private terrace where you can dine or relax in comfort and privacy and look out over the pool and the valley beyond. We have tried to provide everything you might need for a relaxing and comfortable holiday, the feedback we receive is that we have managed to do that and more. All the facilities are set up to accommodate 4 people comfortably and there are descriptions below about each aspect of the apartment.

About bob

We are Bob and Ian and moved to Marche 8 years ago to set up Casal dei Fichi. We left behind successful careers in London to move to a less stressful way of life in an area often described as 'all of Italy in one region'. We live on site with our two dogs, 3 cats and 5 chickens. We are very proud to have established a reputation for helping our guests have a fantastic holiday and we are now the number one rated place to stay in Le Marche (out of over 1,000 places listed by Tripadvisor).

We choose this property to renovate and convert into apartments because of the view - it has a wonderful panoramic view of 360 degrees and it is the first thing that most of our guests comment on when they arrive! The area is truly stunning and we love the slower pace of life in rural Marche. We also chose our area as it is less than one hour's drive from the airport which we think is an important factor for our guests - why be driving when you can be sat by the pool with a glass of local vino!

What makes this apartment unique

We have tried to create a friendly, stylish and comfortable place for your holiday. We are there if you need us and we are always ready to give advice, book a restaurant or organise a day out or event for you. If you like your peace and quiet then you have it by the pool or in your own private garden.

Please join us for our weekly complimentary pizza party based on our original brick oven in the garden - great fun to make your own pizza and share it with your fellow guests.

In the grounds you will find an orchard, herb and vegetable gardens and our free range chickens, please help yourself to our produce - nothing better than fresh ingredients straight from the garden!

Finally we have worked hard to make sure you have everything you need in your kitchen to prepare your meals. The feedback we get is that we have thought of everything and we have tried to equip your kitchen to the same standard as you have at home.

Casal dei Fichi is 2km from the small walled medieval town of Francavilla d'Ete with a restaurant, bars, shops, bank and historic churches. We are 30 mins from the Adriatic coast where beaches range from secluded coves to vibrant lidos with bars, restaurants and nightclubs. 30 Minutes in the other direction are the Sibillini mountains offering superb walking, mountain biking and scenery. Several renaissance walled towns are within 15 minutes drive, many can be seen from the house. Macerata, with its famous outdoor Opera festival, Fermo, Ascoli Piceno and Lorreto are close by and the Umbrian gems of Assisi and Perugia are within 2 hours, as is Urbino.

Stunning views start on our doorstep and extend for miles.

  • We have six apartments to rent, most of the apartments are priced as shown. The availability chart relects all the apartments and not just one. If availability is shown then at least one apartment is still available for rent. Please see our website - www.casaldeifichi.com for full descriptions or mail us with your enquiry.
  • Prices are based on two people per apartment. Several of the apartments have double sofabeds in the living room, a supplement of £25 per person per week is payable for each additional guest.
    The standard arrival day is Saturday, we can often accomodate mid week arrivals/departures though a small supplement may apply. We will happily take short bookings out of peak season.

    No other extras are charged, price includes heating, cleaning, pool towels etc.
  • In addition to central heating, many of our apartments have open fires - perfect for those cooler nights. Help yourself to our extensive range of DVDs, prepare a tasty meal, open a bottle of wine and put your feet up!
    There is a book and music CD library in each apartment and an extensive guide to the area with plenty of recommendations of places to visit and local restaurants that have been tried and tested.

Notes: From Spring through to Autumn with hold a complementary Pizza night once a week using our original outdoor brick oven. Here you will get to roll out and put toppings on your very own pizza. Put it in the oven and watch it bake in just 3 or 4 minutes. If it doesn't work - no problem just try another one! In the landscaped grounds you will find an orchard and a herb & vegetable garden. We encourage you to take what you need and enjoy fresh produce daily with our complements. You will also find a cookbook in the apartment in case you are looking for some inspiration!

Utterly Brilliant

This was our second visit to Casal dei Fichi - last year we stayed at the beginning of September and this year June. Both times it was exquisite - June has the addition of fireflies and it is cooler and September has the addition of ripe figs! The apartments are so lovely and of a really high standard. The dogs Balsa ( or Balso) and Hetty have wonderful characters provide constant entertainment and are hilarious - as are Bob and Ian - the owners, welcoming, helpful and funny. The whole area is just so lovely so many wonderful places to visit and eat. Bob and Ian's pizza party is a legend! Both visits have been utterly brilliant ...... my only caution are the mosquitoes be prepared for them !!!!

Just what we were looking for

What we wanted was a peaceful beautiful private accommodation, with access to the outdoor living space and a variety of day trips not too far away, as I brought my 6 month old baby with me, to meet up with my parents for a visit. We rented two of the Casal dei Fichi apartments. We nearly had too much space! We could not have dreamed for a more comfortable place to spend a week with extended family. My mom and I participated in two days of cooking lessons at a big restaurant in a nearby town. Since the chef taught in Italian, Casal dei Fichi host Bob accompanied us and did a fantastic job translating! We really enjoyed ourselves. Both Bob and Ian are so gracious and helpful, while still allowing you your privacy and the feeling that you are staying in an independent space. In my experience your accommodation can really make a difference to the quality of your vacation. This was perfect. I would return with my husband and I would highly recommend staying at Casal dei Fichi to couples and families alike.

One of my favourite things was making a cappuccino first thing in the morning and sitting out in our little garden in the sunshine. The setting is absolutely breathtaking.

Beautiful location - wonderful hosts

Casal dei Fichi is located in a beautiful area and Ian and Bob were wonderful hosts who went out of their way to be helpful. The accomodations were teriffic and included everything we needed. Ian and Bob arranged some wonderful outings that we really enjoyed and we had a lot of fun exploring the many small towns in the area. Food, service and location were even better than we had hoped for and I highly recomment staying at Casal dei Fichi.
