Korcula Vacation Rental villa: Island of Korcula, Medvinjak village

We were two couples who booked adjoining apartments with magnificent sea views and huge sliding glass doors to the the very large balcony. This one balcony was separated by large plants in containers which act as privacy between apartments. Each balcony space had a table seating 4 with an umbrella and two loungers. The apartments were very comfortable and clean but lacked a few basics such as a hairdryer and coffee maker. Toilet rolls along with grocery cupboard staples such as salt, pepper and oil would have been a nice touch as would towels for the beach to save on luggage space.

Swimming area just across the road in front of the property. Small supermarket a 5 minute walk away. The sea is gorgeous so do as the locals and literally swim anywhere. Lovely 20 min walk into Korcula town which is really beautiful and mostly traffic free. Some of the narrow alleys were strung with washing and there were locals going about their business so it's not simply a tourist ghetto.There's a good variety of places to eat and drink. Our favourite bar was Vinum Bonum (Han's place), a tiny friendly bar with some nice wines (and beers of course). There are some nicely situated restaurants on a tree lined street just inside the walls but unfortunately it was too chilly when we were there (global warming is affecting everywhere). We're veggies who don't eat fish but if we had done we'd have been spoiled for choice. As it was we enjoyed Amphora the best. It does pasta/pizza and a variety of other meals. The worst one we ate in as at the top of the steps in front of the quayside. Relatively expensive for mediocre food (3 of the 4 of us thought this).

Korcula and the apartment made for a wonderful holiday and writing this review had taken me right back to wishing we were there now!!
