This summer holiday rental is located in a small village Dumici, which is one of the most traditional and authentic parts of beautiful island Rab in Kvarner region. The house with apartment to rent is situated on a small hill that provides an amazing and meditative view on Supetarska bay and Velebit mountains. The sea is only 120 m walking distance from the house. The nearest beach is sandy with clean and shallow water. We offer (no charge) a private mooring for boats and yachts (boat can be rented there) and the location is excellent for daily boat excursions to explore the diverse islands in the neighbourhood. The apartment in the house has separate entrance, one bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, dinning place, living room and a terrace with the sea view. The apartment is not luxury, but functional, clean, cosy and sweet. The guests can also use a private parking space, grill, hang together and watch TV in communal place or just rest in a hanging net in the park and listen to crickets.

The island Rab (9000 inhabit) is a combination of modern and traditional and is ideal for travelers looking for a relaxing, quiet holiday combining ancient culture, authentic island life style, but also want to do some shopping (of traditional products, jewellery or designer clothes) and experience night life. In the center Rab, that exists since Roman times and has really reach architectural heritage, you can walk on mysterious streets build with roman stone and admire gorgeous Renaissance and Gothic buildings or famous Komrcar park. The whole island is very diverse with lots of clean and protected sand or stone beaches and bays &also with rich undersea life around them. All distances are small and easily reachable. Supetarska Draga, where our summer holiday rental is located, is known for Romanesque basilica of St. Peter (from 11th century), for former salt pans which are now a diverse ecosystem and for three small islands. It is also known as least touristic, friendly and easy.

Notes: The owners are very flexible and are happy to fulfill your desires and wishes. TV is not in every apartment, but we have plasma TV, DVD and stereo equipment in a cosy and big 'communal space'. There is also bar, sofas to seat, small library, games to play... We would suggest our house to sea and boat lovers, who have (or would rent) a boat and explore the nearby islands. Young, active people are also very, very welcome (backpackers). Nonetheless, most of people here are families with children, because the beaches are great for them (sandy, shallow water). We do not offer meals, but this can be arranged by the neighbour pension PIVAC(20 m away). They offer half or full board. We also provide individual PILATES lessons (pilates coach licence). Our house is not luxury, but it is very people friendly and extremely tentative and tasty cared of.

Why should we chose your house on island Rab?: Rab is very interesting island, the combination of rural and urban, of very diverse fauna, flora and reliefs, which is quite unique quality for cultures on islands (check some sites about the island on the internet). We have been leading successful family tradition working with guest for 20 years now. We have guests, that are coming regularly for holidays to our house since the opening of the summer house. Most people come from Belgium, France, Slovenia, Germany, Italy and other European countries (of course, people from other continents are extremely welcome too). People usually like our friendliness, flexibility, the island nature and the whole experience of being on the island; not to mention the feeling of safety (there is no criminal on the island). You can also take daily trips to neighbouring islands (Krk, Losinj, Pag, former communist prisons on Grgur and Goli island) or natural park Plitvice lake on the mainland. At the end, Rab can really unexpectedly get under your skin.

How to get there?: Most people come by car. The nearest airport is Rijeka (Krk) or Zagreb or Ljubljana (this one is in Slovenia). The train connections are not so good (the nearest railway station is in Rijeka). One good option is also that you can come by bus. It might take longer, but on the way you can admire beautiful Magistrala road and Adriatic sea.

Other Activities: pilates, exploring island culture, making boat excursions (guided or on your own), enjoying the nature.

We stayed there a year ago. The weather was very hot and we enjoyed the wonderful surrounding. The property is very close to the beach so that we stayed a lot in the garden. The tables and chairs in the shadow invited to relax. From the balcony you have a wonderful view over the sea. It was great to stay there in the evenings. Our children loved to run down to the beach whenever they wanted.
