One of most beautiful Mediterranean coasts, are a real buttonhole flower. Approximately 50 km west of Palermo in Sicily lies the small hamlet of Scopello, on a coast consisting partly of steep rocks and partly of romantic bays with magnificent, white beaches. It is characterised by large rock formations protruding from the sea. In the east it adjoins the broad Gulf of Castellammare. Nearby is the beautiful natural park of Riserva dello Zingaro, which can only be reached on foot, by boat (motor boats not allowed) or by swimming. The wonderful old buildings of Tonnara and the shops of the ceramic artists invite one to browse through the small town.
