This beautiful, newly built studio apartment is located at the top of the hill above town, with gorgeous views across the majestic Moreno Valley in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Northern New Mexico. You are literally up in the trees at 8800 feet with sweeping views and a wonderful, large deck to sit out and enjoy watching Mother Nature. The large east and south facing windows allow you to view the beauty of sun and moon rises and falling snow in the comfort of this secluded, cozy retreat. Just two miles from the ski resort’s high speed quad lift and one of the highest golf courses in the United States, this fully equipped vacation villa needs only you to complete this perfect mountain hideaway.
The living and kitchen area is light and spacious. An open bedroom area has large windows so you can look out at the starlit sky while falling asleep to the quiet peacefulness of the mountain breeze blowing through the aspens. Our gas stove heater provides ample heat on cold nights while enjoying the warm glow of the hearth. Accommodations include one queen bed and one queen sofa bed, perfect for a family of four.
Angel Fire is an outdoor lover’s paradise. Summers are delightfully cool and refreshing. There is an easy hiking trail through the woods just outside your door or for the more adventuresome hiker, there’s Wheeler Peak, at over 13,000 feet. Eagle Nest Lake offers terrific fishing for trout, bass and perch. Several streams provide anglers ample opportunity to ply for cool water trout. The 18 hole PGA golf course is gorgeous and challenging with lots of creeks, trees and beautiful scenery. Every year a family of Canadian geese nest on the 9th hole pond. It’s not surprising for golfers to catch baby geese waddling behind their parents out onto the fairway. The fall is breathtaking with aspens coloring the hillsides in golden patchwork. Elk can often wander into the yard and it is quite exciting to hear the wily bull elk bulging in the distance. In the winter, skiing is fantastic, and snowboarders love the new terrain park. The Angel Fire Ski Resort is family oriented and world renowned for their Children’s Ski and Snowboard Center. The Chili Express high speed quad chairlift carries skiers to the top of the mountain in eight minutes. Snowmaking covers 60% of the mountain, so good ski conditions are almost guaranteed! The ski area includes 19 KM of groomed Nordic trails and night tubing is a favorite for children and adults alike.

We love coming to Angel Fire and we can say incontrovertibly, that this has been the best visit yet! A large contributor to that, was "nesting" in this heavenly slice of mountainside! Our host gave us clear directions and if you find yourself here in the winter months please heed her excellent advice to not have any challenges by USING AWD or 4-wheel drive as the road up to the home is challenging in snowy/icy conditions! The wonderful advantage of this location is that you are indeed, in a very peaceful and serene spot. It is the ideal place to completely relax and enjoy nature. The studio was equipped with all the basics and was the perfect size for my husband and I. The gas fire in the living area does a stellar job of warming the whole studio and during the day, the sun is a great enhancer. The bed was comfortable and we had the most incredible view of the stars at night. Just breathtaking. Also, we absolutely loved the sunrise and it was better than any TV show, to watch it each morning. It is a quick drive from the studio down to Angel Fire so very convenient too. As a runner (in case there are any of you out there that might be curious about running here) I braved the mountain on our last day and ran, crawled and walked my way back up. Twas marvelous! If asked what we loved most about this trip to Angel Fire, we would probably say the abundant wildlife! Wild turkey, elk, and so many beautiful deer. It was easy to go out on the deck and visit with them each day and they gave us many wonderful photo ops!! Of course, seeing a bear would've made the trip complete yet, this trip has been truly special! We will definitely be back!
My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary here and we had a perfect week! The Villa is even prettier than the pictures. First class amenities. We flew into Albuquerque, rented a car and drove up visiting places along the way. We used the Villa as a launch point for a week's worth of touring around the area...Taos, Enchanted Circle, Angel Fire Resort, Golf and just relaxing around the very secluded house. This is the only house in the near vicinity, so you feel like you're in the forest. The stars are amazing! It wasn't until the last day that we discovered all the trails in back of the property! An elk was in the front yard the first day to greet us. Our host had everything we needed well stocked and she took care of a minor problem quickly. It was a perfect vacation for us. Thanks Julianne!
We absolutely loved our stay here. We were in the treetops, with lots of wildlife to watch out the windows. The Villa is lovely & very comfortable!
This is our second time to stay at this property. We love it because it is very secluded, has lovely views and access to hiking trails, and a great deck where you can watch the wildlife. This studio attaches by breezeway to the owner's cabin and there is a semi-shared deck. She feeds the birds and deer, so there are always plenty to see! While there we saw several deer, wild turkeys, squirrels, chipmunks, and lots of birds - Steller's jays, nuthatches, grosbeaks, mountain chickadees - and if you'll bring a little birdseed to put on the deck rail they'll come up very close. The cabin has everything you need - gas stove in the living room, full kitchen with plenty of pots, pans, plates, etc.; big windows all around (beautiful at sunrise); very nice bathroom and queen bed (firm mattress). The access road up to the cabin is very steep and somewhat narrow - if the conditions were bad/snowy/icy, you would likely need chains or AWD to get up there. We go in the fall when the beautiful aspens are turning and the weather is cold at night. Julianne is a wonderful hostess.
We had a wonderful stay. Cabin was better than described. Super clean and super quiet. Saw several deer and wild turkey moving through the area. Easy to follow directions to the cabin and plenty of parking. One of the best stays we have had. We will be back.
My husband and I stayed a week in September and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rental property was just as it was presented and the previous reviews were accurate. We would definitely stay here again!. The property was clean and very peaceful. The views are magnificent. The visiting wildlife was an added bonus. If you're looking for a quiet get away place for a couple to stay then this is it! We used this rental property as a 'home base' and visited the surrounding areas--Eagle Nest, Cimarron Canyon State Park and Red River as well as Angel Fire. All are about 45 minutes away or less. We did lots of hiking...rode horses...did ATV tours and jeep tours. All local vendors were extremely helpful and easy to deal with. This was one of our best vacations.
