WONDERFUL HOMES IN THE CENTER OF WOLNZACH OR ON A FARM NEARBY!

My family (husband, son, daughter-in-law and 2 grandkids) stayed in the city apartment in downtown Wolnzach for 2 weeks in June, 2012 and loved this apartment. We used it as a base for visiting a number of places in Bavaria. The train station is 2K away with frequent trains to Munich and other areas. It's about an hour / hour and a half drive to castles, Garmisch, the Zugspitze and other Alpine attractions.
The apartment is in a very old building on the central square in Wolnzach. However the interior of the unit has been completely modernized and is very open and airy and HUGE as well as immaculate. There are 3 large bedrooms with king size beds and one daybed in the living room. Both bathrooms and the kitchen are totally modern and gorgeous. It also has a deck overlooking the roofs of the surrounding buildings. Important for families, there is also a washer and dryer and cooking facilities. Also Wi-Fi.

It is very convenient to restaurants and shopping. The men in our party were particularly impressed by the outdoor beer garden at Gasthof zur Post immediately next door. Very convenient! Unlike here in the States, there were 3 meat markets and at least 4 bakeries within 2 blocks of the house. There was also a gelato / snack restaurant just steps away. There are also a number of other good restaurants within walking distance. There are full grocery stores about 1K away.

Christine's written English is perfect. It was very easy to communicate with her via email. Her mother lives nearby and she got us set up in the apartment and her brother lives in the building and was available for assistance. They were all extremely helpful. In fact, there was a problem with the washing machine and they purchased a new one which her brother and a friend delivered and installed. That required a thank you beer and good conversation next door at the adjacent beer garden

There are only 2 caveats about this apartment:
1 - It is not for someone with mobility issues as it's on the 4th floor (3rd floor European style) and the parking is about 3 blocks away.
2 - If you are traveling with infants or small children who do not sleep well, be advised that there are 2 churches - one in front and one behind the building and it seemed at time that there were dueling church bells. We thought it was part of the charm of a traditional Bavarian town but others could disagree. The beer from next door helped mitigate the effect.
