OUR PERFECT WONDERFUL STAY AT LES FRIPPIERES

  • 5 of 5
We have just returned from our holiday to Les Frippieres, we had a wonderful time, it was so peaceful and calm, felt like a retreat. Our accomodation had everything we needed, a nice cold bottle of bubbly in the fridge, a gift from Liz and Ken the owners!! They were really helpful about everything, places to visit, eating places but only if you asked them. The pool area was lovely and I got to do my washing in the Cave-Liz had provided all the washing powder and softener, so it had to be done! It was a good position to visit lots of lovely villages in The Loire, Loches was one of our favourites. We recommend this place 100% and we will return one day for the peace and quiet that we all need from time to time Liz and Ken were the perfect hosts, we felt we had known them for a long time.

A LOVELY HAVEN IN STUNNING COUNTRYSIDE.

  • 5 of 5
We stayed in Le Ciel Bleu, it was a lovely little property and a perfect place to relax. Great views, great gardens and pool. Nice little table outside, great for your morning croissant. A good base for exploring local villages, and within reach of chateaus like Villandry and Chenenceau. Everything you needed was there, including some milk and provisions to get you started. The bottle of wine was a lovely thought. Lovely and clean, shower room and kitchen area which included a dishwasher aswell! Good to have access to a washing machine and also secure parking. Friendly hosts. All in all we had a wonderful time and wouldnt hesitate to go back or to recommend to friends or family. Thank you!

PEACEFUL AND HARMONIOUS RETREAT WITH NATURE

  • 5 of 5
This lovely, comfortable clean cottage is set in beautiful gardens and immediate surroundings. The sounds of nature such as birdlife and bees is very evident and pretty much all that you will hear.
This was our first visit to the southern part of the Loire which is away from the tourist hotspots but which are easily accessible, the roads were extremely quiet, perfect for cycling and viewing the stunning countryside.
Liz & Ken were very helpful & friendly and always on hand to offer advice on places to visit and the supplied pack of tourist brochures ample to decide on where to visit. We highly recommend a stay at Les Frippieres

THIS WAS FABULOUS

  • 5 of 5
Always wanted to stay in a cottage surrounded by beautiful flowered gardens and found it in Les Frippieres. Ken was an excellent host, unfortunately his wife was away, just loved the large bath towels, something a lot of hosts get wrong. Perfect cooking facilities, restaurants handy if you wanted to eat out. Would recommend this place to everyone.

COMFORT AND TRANQUILITY-WE LOVED LE CIEL BLUE

  • 5 of 5
The luxury of crisp white bed linen and fluffy towels you get in a five star hotel combined with the relaxation and comfort of a home away from home is why Le Ciel Bleu was the perfect place to be based for an exploration of the Loire Valley. The apartment is perfect for two, having an incredibly comfortable king size bed, and is very well equiped with kitchen facilities, a music system and Sky TV whilst maintaining the charm of the 350 year old house, complete with beams.

Ken and Liz are fantastic hosts and are a mine of information about the area. It is obviously that they take incredible pride in Les Frippieres, our apartment was spotless and beautifully furnished and the gardens around the cottages are stunning.

We are so glad we chose Le Ciel Bleu for our Loire trip and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to visit this beautiful part of France.

Recreational opportunities abound in the region. Biking on the almost traffic-free country roads alongside the wide rivers, privately-owned châteaux and red-roofed villages, certainly qualifies as one of the most delightful activities. The many rivers which honeycomb the area, from the Creuse to the Gartempe to the Anglin, will be of special interest to swimmers and those who enjoy fishing. Bird watching is especially well-rewarded in the Regional Park of the Brenne, a wildlife refuge. For those who would like to be a little more energetic why not borrow our bikes and try one of the easy local bike rides and of course there are plenty of local walks, we also have local stables and tennis courts. We are lucky enough to be surrounded by Golf Courses which are underplayed for most of year, our nearest is just 15 mins away.

Other Activities: Bird Watching, Chateaux

Golf: We are lucky enough to be surrounded by quality golf courses that are not only quiet but affordable. Our nearest club is the 18 hole Golf du Connetable at La Roche Posay, just 15 minutes away and is a challenge for all standard of golfers. This ‘Woburnesk’ course is set amongst conifers with oaked lined fairways, wildlife is plentiful Red Squirrel’s abound and don’t be surprised to see the odd Stag or Boar running off into the forest. Golf de La Roche Possay

At Loches we have the 9 hole Golf Loches Verneuil which has been built in association with St. Andrews. Golf Loches Verneuil

Just outside Chatellerault is the Golf du Haut Poitou, here we have both a 9 and 18 hole course set around a large lake, again the 18 hole course is a challenge to all. Golf du Haut Poitou

A bit further out is the Golf du Manoir de Beauvoir, this beautiful course is set in the grounds of an old 19th centaury Victorian style manor which is now an hotel. Golf du Manoir de Beauvoir
