A unique cottage 1 block to one of the most beautiful beaches in Hawaii. 1 bedroom with a queen sized bed, the living room has a queen sized fold out futon couch, plus dining room/parlor with wireless internet. Kailua Beach is perfect for swimming, kayaking, windsurfing, boogie-boarding, surfing, snorkelling, or just reading a book! Beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels are provided. Kitchen is well equipped, but there are dozens of excellent restaurants in Kailua Town which is a 15 minute walk. Kailua is a perfect place to explore Oahu, since we are only 12 miles from Honolulu, but it is much more peaceful here on the Windward side of the island.

Location: Oahu < Hawaii < USA

Kailua has many restaurants serving various types of ethnic cuisine. There are lots of shops selling clothing, hand crafted items, souvenirs. We are located on the east side of the island, aobut a 45 min drive from the North Shore where there are many surfing competitions held. The Polynesian Cultural Center is 30 min away, Pearl Harbor is 25 minutes, Haunama Bay is 15 minutes away .

What air conditioning?

I had initially reserved the cottage for May but due to change in work situation was required to delay stay until October 2009.

The Ad needs to reflect that the air conditioning is confined to the bedroom and does not cool the entire cottage. Since we arrived during the hottest time of the year it was sometimes unbearable. There were ceiling fans but because of the location of the cottage it was hard to get good air flow.

Access to the cottage was great.

The Palm Cottage was just perfect. There are lots of windows that allow the cool breezes to flow through. The private garden was perfect.
It is truely one block from the beach. There is a convenient store close by & the famous Green Market is also close, you can go for a Beach Burger on the weekends. Kailua town is a 15 min walk, in which there are lots of restaurants.

Excellent property in a perfect location for O'Ahu. Plenty of space to make the place feel like your own home and an easy walk to one of the best beaches in Hawaii (and therefore the world). Using a rental car is best, but the property location has bus routes nearby. Buses are cheap and regular and therefore a good alternative.

The property was clean and really nicely presented. The owners are great people, easy to get along with and always ready for a chat and to provide some good advice. Any problems i.e. white goods breaking down, were quickly fixed.

It was a pleasure to meet the owners and stay in their cottage. I can't recommend it highly enough. I'll definitely be back.

In fact, if you're thinking of booking it, do it soon as I might get their ahead of you!
