There are many excursions to the nearby coast with the 'white city' as Kragerö and Risör, the Telemark Canal and around the Nissersee. A small zoo is found in Brokelandsheia, a zoo and the 'Cardamom-by' in Kristiansand.
In the spring, the black grouse courtship and as of May can get a second Spring with the fresh green of the plants and Bäaume experience. Is the summer / fall are plentiful berries and mushrooms to many interesting and well-marked hiking trails invite to excursions into nature, the nearby coast and the lakes offer a variety of swimming, surfing, canoeing and the proximity of the 'white coast cities' provide typical Norwegian summer life with boat traffic and restaurants. In winter there are groomed Skiloypen that call for extensive cross-country winter fun that begin just 300 m away from the house. Alpinsport there Gautefall (45 min).
Each season has its own charm and a vacation in the virgin nature is balm for the soul.
But beware: Norway can be addictive.
Skiing: 40 km cross-country ski trails start about 300 meters away from the house and the cross-country ski is being expanded. An alpine plant located in Gautefall, about a 45 minutes drive away. Even there, there are good trails and a system for biathlon and ski rental.
