New apartment with fantastic sea views just a few kilometers from Florence, SienaPisa

I don't normally write reviews but our recent stay at Residenza Frasinelli in Castiglioncello was so perfect that it seemed only fair to do so. Everything about our week was definitely five star - the warm and friendly welcome by the owner Cristina, the well-maintained, luxurious, modern and scrupulously clean apartment; the comfortable beds; the fully equipped kitchen; the stunning location right beside the beach with fantastic sea views; and the spectacular sunsets my wife and I watched from our private terrace each evening. All this and Castiglioncello's wide range of amazing restaurants, shops, leisure facilities and cultural events were all within a few minutes walk! Castiglioncello railway station is only 5 minutes from the apartment on foot, Pisa International Airport is about 35 minutes by car, while the tourist "must-sees" of Pisa, Florence, Sienna, Lucca, San Gimignano and Volterra are all nearby. Less well-known places like Livorno, Bolgheri, Vada and Cecina and Rosignano Marittimo are also within easy reach and well worth a visit. Roads were quiet, driving was a pleasure and the Italian drivers were amazingly polite. Bus and train services seemed very frequent, although we used a hire car to get about. Every meal was a joy, whether we cooked at the apartment using fabulous local ingredients or ate out - every restaurant we tried offered great food and friendly efficient service. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives, and we plan to return there very soon - next time it will however be for 2 weeks instead of one!
