The landscape surrounding the little hamlet of Gavignano is completely quiet and unspoiled, making a perfect setting for a country holiday, ideal for gentle walks and picnics. The towers of S. Gimignano are just visible across the valley. Podere OLiveta which translates as 'Olive grove Farm' consists of 5 different apartments which enjoy a pretty location up in the hills .Each apartment has its own independent entrance and own garden area with barbecue. Much careful thought has gone into decoration, furnishing and ensuring the apartments are equipped down to the last detail. There is a swimming pool surrounded by a sun terrace which has stunning views overlooking the rolling olive clad hills, the sprinkling of cypresses trees and the majestic towers of S. Gimignano in the distance. The bread man calls every day except Sundays and local wine can be bought nearby. Podere Oliveta enjoys a location with easy access to the main routes to Florence and Siena.

The ground floor of the farmhouse makes a pleasant apartment for a family or for two couples. A French doors open off a little terrace and at the front of the farmhouse with a spacious, bright living room looking out over the front garden and the valley below. It has a small and pretty fireplace, and a stenciled frieze around the walls. The purpose built kitchen corner, with marble countertops and solid wooden doors, is fully equipped. The main bedroom has wrought iron bedsteads with charming flowered bedspreads and curtains; the picturesque twin bedded room (which can be double), painted rose pink, has a brick vaulted ceiling, herringbone cotta tiles on the floor and an intriguingly shaped window. The well fitted shower room has fresh green tiles. The garden is shaded by trees, well furnished with its own barbecue. Podere Oliveta is located 200m from the hamlet to Gavignano. Set on the top of the hill which overlooks the whole country side. It is in the center of Tuscany with easy access to main routes towards Florance (30min by car), Siena (20min), Volterra, San Gimignano, the villages and castles of Chianti. In the area you can find good restaurants and shops.

Arriving by car from the north: leave the highway A1 'Autostrada del Sole' at the exit Firenze Certosa and take the motorway Firenze-Siena. Drive along (34km) this road as far as Poggibonsi Nord. At the roundabout folow the directions to Poggibonsi centre and drive for about 500m. Turn left in to the first road on your left towards Gavignano and drive for other 1,8km. Pass the little hamlet of Gavignano and the end of the asphalted road you'll see a sign Oliveta on your right. Coming from the South: drive until Siena and then follow the direction towards Firenze. Take the motorway Siena-Firenze till the exit of Poggibonsi Nord.

This apartment is in a perfect location to explore Tuscany and Chianti. It has easy access to the highway between Florence and Siena while feeling like you are miles away! Our apartment was clean, comfortable, private and well equipped. The owners are wonderful, helpful and they are only a phone call away. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

A little peace of heaven in Tuscany

My husband I spent a week at Podere Oliveta.It was exactly as described and we enjoyed it immensly.We stayed in Falco and it was very well equiped and spotlessly clean.There are 2 great supermarkets within a 10 minute drive.It was wonderfully quiet at night and the view!!!!!The cottage was an excellent base to explore the area.We went to Lucca,Arrezzo,Pienza,the Chianti route,San Giminano and many small villages.Fabio and his wife were very welcoming and helpful with directions and suggestions.Should the opportunity arise we wouldn't hesitate to return and would reccomend it to anyone.
