Cascais Villa Rental - August 2011

A return visit to Cascais, this time staying in this particular villa a little closer to the centre of town.
The property owners met us on arrival, and were extremely friendly and helpful. The villa is exactly as described - clean and well maintained. A cleaner comes several times a week, and we had no problems whatsoever. A secure, luxurious villa.
The villa is suitable for families - we had 2 boys under 10 years - and both loved the property and the location. We decided not to rent a car, and instead took local taxis - about 10 mins into central Cascais, always arrived within 5 minutes and cost less than €5 each time, We also took taxis to Guincho - again about 10 mins drive and €5 each ways. More flexible than car rental, and cheaper for our party of 6. Also if you wish to be specific, get the taxi to drop you to by the Turismo office in Cascais, and pick one up there for the return leg - it saves you paying for a quick circuit of the town in light traffic due to the one way system! Also, not every taxi knew the address, but the owners advised us to mention the local restaurant Mare Alta on Rua do Cobre which every taxi knew!
Locally there is a small grocer, bakery, butchers and cafe within 5 minutes walk. We popped to the grocers upon arrival to purchase milk / bread etc before shopping in Cascais for a wider selecton of groceries.
There is a BBQ, although we did not use it and instead ate out.
Although the pool is not heated, it did not stop our boys swimming each morning in cold water!
Finally, the owners were very decent and we enjoyed some chats with them on arrival and departure. We can recommend this villa without problem, and would stay there again.
Arrived back home to heavy rain!
