Zakynthos (Zante) Vacation Rental : Kypseli

We travelled as a party of 10 and booked all of the villas at this site for a week, but my family stayed in this villa.

We received a personal welcome from the owner Diana, as well as a complimentary starter pack of fresh organic eggs, bread from the local bakery, wine & their own olive oil.

Our villas were spotless and extremely well equipped. Olympia came in and cleaned everyday and changed the towels, as well as the bed linen every other day. She was discreet, thorough and a lovely surprise!

The gardens at Olive Villas were stunning, with beautiful mature olive trees and colourful shrubs. Pots of flowers were everywhere and there were plenty of herbs to use.

The pool was very clean and well maintained, we have one child who always gets an ear infection wherever we go, but not here.

The local tavernas were great, especially Rouli's fish taverna. Fresh fish, greek salads and a singing owner. Rustic, but warm and charming too. Our children loved it.

We also visited Diana's taverna in Tsilvi which served delicious and authentic greek cuisine. Do try it.

We enjoyed the stay here, but we also got out and about too. We visited the blue caves in the north of the island and then Zante town.

Speak with Diana as she knows the island well, and was able to point us to lovely coves, and places to eat.

All in all, this was a relaxing holiday, the local villagers were always welcoming, and we all agreed that we would love to come back.

We have spent a week in Villa Mimosa and it was fantastic. When we arrived there was this wonderful setting of a gated complex with the Villas in the
middle a lovely garden and olive groves. Diana was there to greet us and introduce us to the other guests. There was a welcome pack with organic eggs, home made olive oil and various other things. The villa was immaculate as was the garden and pool. The maid service and pool maintenance was daily, excellent and discreet. It took a few minutes to walk to the small local pebble beach which was lovely. I must admit to having picked a few lemons from the neighbours trees en route back to the Villa. There was a small supermarket and bakery 10 minutes walk away, it had everything you needed. The scenery was fab and in the evening to see the sun set on the large balcony was incredible. When it was time to leave Diana was
there again to say goodbye and make sure all was ok. Overall it was a great break, totally relaxing and first class all round. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone,
definitely an experience to be repeated!

Well what a gem we stumbled upon here! The luxury standard that the English expect and deserve (?!) on holiday - with the peace and tranquility of a beautiful greek island. Diana has put together a set of 4 appartments around a pool... with enough privacy if you need it, but also a bit of a community feel.
Overall, these plenty of room in the villas - you don't feel squashed in - this villa has a genuine 2 bedroom (1dbl, 1 twin), 2 bathroom configuration - none of the 1 bedroom and 1 sofa bed in the sitting room rubbish. Aircon throughout, cleaner comes every day, Washing machine, Microwave.. its even got a small dishwasher! There are two terraces/sitting areas.. one downstairs and one out of the master bedroom upstairs. TV, stereo, cooker... proper kitchen. As I said its spacious.
At the end of the road there is a decent restaurant (+two others nearby), big cornershop and bakery - so if you dont have a car, its no problem also.
Close by this villa there is a small beach with shallow, sandy waters of the type that made Scarborough famous - however these waters are warm and crystal clear - without the funfair and people. Its a flat and shallow enough for the kids to stand in for 50 yards out - with a nice taverna overlooking the beach too.
Don't belive all that you read about this island - in one or two isolated places its a party place... but its a fair size and mostly its a family place, idylic and great for the kids. Do like we did and rent a small, cheap car and explore. In Greece, small cars fit down tiny olive grove roads better - trust me... when you come round a corner and somethings coming the other way - you want to be small!
The island has many small, hidden beaches and tavernas for lunch. The famous blue caves are at the top of the island and over from there is the shipwreck beach. Shipwreck beach is a place you have seen many times... but probably you didn't remember it was Zakynthos - one of the most famous scenes in Greece. This is a place with crystal clear water and white, white sand - but isolated in the north of the lsland.
In summary, this is a good choice in a peaceful location on the island. All you need is close by. The appartment space you get, with the pool makes this a great place. If you want party life - probably you should be at the other end of the Island.
