Porvenir, in Spanish, means future. The remarkable sunset seascape vistas from Casa Porvenir celebrate the perpetual rhythms of day's end and the promise of a new dawn beyond the descending cloak of tropical darkness. Casa Porvenir is an ideal setting for basking in the glow of the present and dreaming of the promise of the future.
Casa Porvenir is a large landscaped property with an abundance of tropical trees and flowers. Your party will enjoy the privacy of Casa Porvenir. While we have two accommodations available, we rent to one group at time so you do not share the space/grounds with strangers. We accommodate our guests in the Casita Suite and in the Palapa Suite (El Nido), offering comfort, privacy and simple elegance. The Casita Suite has a fully provisioned kitchen with an ocean view and a bathroom whose shower is open to the sky – the sun in the day and the stars and moon at night. An ample bedroom sleeps 2 (king or twins) and a sleeper sofa sleeps one child. There are views of the ocean from every room and from the expansive deck (estancia) there is a breathtaking 120 degree view of the Pacific Ocean. A scan of the ocean vista from shore to horizon at any moment during the day may reveal gliding and diving sea gulls, high flying frigate birds, whales breaching, surfers riding the crests off the point, scuba-masked divers exploring underwater hideouts of lobsters and sea cucumbers, and dolphins leaping in their graceful arcs across the surface of the ocean … and, punctuating the soft brilliance of the setting sun, flocks of pelicans paint an undulating silhouette against the western sky.
The Palapa Suite (El Nido) with its classic tropical palm-thatched roof has a fully provisioned mini-kitchen, a spacious bathroom and an ample bedroom sleeping 2 adults and 2 children that opens onto a lounging deck. From the kitchen and deck the picturesque coastal range meets the eye.
For our guests Casa Porvenir is prized as a celebration of privacy, beauty, tranquility, serenity, renewal and regeneration. It has celebrated weddings, anniversaries and birthdays. Come and join the celebration of life. It is our hope that Casa Porvenir will bless our guests with rest, love, romance, creativity, healing and hope for the future.
Muchas gracias for creating such a beautiful home and allowing us to share it! We have had a most wonderful vacation (in every sense of the world)...it has been a “chick trip” to remember...and we each dream of coming back with our loved ones!
My wife and I just returned for a weeklong stay at Casa Porvenir. We had the best time there. This is our third time staying there, and we are already itching to return. The home itself is so well-kept. The space is gorgeous. And it's right up against the beach. So we could hear the ocean 24/7, which is incredibly relaxing. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, plates, etc. All we needed to do was purchase food at the market in Zihuat on the way from the airport to Troncones. The house is well-kept by a woman who cleans the place daily and a gardener who is taking care of the beautiful gardens. We will be back.
My husband and I stayed at Casa Porvenir for two weeks back in March. One would think it's odd to write a review six months after the fact, however, the truth is, Casa Porvenir is unforgettable! So much so, that my husband and I have booked 2 additional stays for November and another for March of 2015. This place is a piece of heaven. Its location is perfect for long walks on the beach and a quick jaunt to Manzanillo Bay in for 'Big Boy' margaritas (the best I have ever had!).
The house is very private despite the open air concept throughout and oozes authentic Mexican charm. There isn't an amenity you require as the home is fully stocked with every cooking utensil and appliance you could need. If you enjoy cooking, I'd be sure to take advantage of the fish and vegetable truck that passes every day. The selection of fish and sea food is caught the night before and deliciously fresh and the produce is perfect for giving Mexican cuisine a try. Be sure to ask the housekeeper to cook you a meal or two, she's a wonderful cook.
The staff respects your privacy while providing for your every need and they keep the house and property immaculate.
Wayne and Jolene, the owners, are wonderfully accommodating and go out of their way to make your stay relaxing and special. My only warning is 'be careful, you could fall in love with Casa Porvenir and Troncones', we certainly have.
Casa Porvenir is a very special place. We spent two weeks there and experienced true rest and relaxation. We left very hectic lives and escaped to peace and serenity which we found very nourishing - in fact this was the most relaxing trip we have ever experienced. The property is very well appointed and beautifully designed with a truly organic open air feeling. It is located right at the edge of the ocean and we enjoyed just sitting back and watching pelicans and sea birds fishing every day. One day we spotted whales surfacing a short distance offshore while sitting in the living room. We like to cook and ate most meals in and we found the kitchen to be very well appointed with everything we needed. The staff at Casa Porvenir were very pleasant and efficient, we felt very well supported for anything we may have needed. Casa Porvenir was the most beautiful place we have ever stayed in.
You may choose Casa Porvenir, located on the beautiful Manzanillo Bay, simply as a place of rest and relaxation and for its natural beauty tranquility and agreeable climate. You may opt to while away the time just looking out at sea where, along the shore line, local fishermen cast nets or dive for lobsters, or, further out whales breach and dolphin glide across the surface. In the immediate vicinity of Casa Porvenir there is sunbathing, swimming, boogie boarding, deep sea fishing, hiking, bird watching, cave exploration and nooks and crannies for mediation and yoga. The shoreline directly in front of Casa Porvenir features lava rock outcroppings and tide pools ideal for the curious beachcomber. The beach is perfect for long runs or walks. The La Majahua Beach lagoon provides amazing scenes of a variety of waterfowl on one's runs or walks. Surfing conditions ideal for beginners may be found 3/4 of a mile north of Casa Porvenir beyond the village of La Majahua on the Majahua beach or, by vehicle thirty minutes to the north of Saladita or The Ranch. While suitable for beginners, these venues are sought out by surfing aficionados who track the internet for the best places to surf. Snorkeling and searching for shells is popular and a fun activity for children and adults of all ages. Weddings and festivities can be planned on the beach... a very romantic and special place. You may also want to luxuriate with a massage or a pedicure/manicure on the deck (estancia) of Casa Porvenir. There are several restaurants on the beach within easy walking distance serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. You may choose from a wide variety of cuisine including Mexican, Continental and American. Local fish and seafood, lobster shrimp, squid and octopus are always available though the fare may vary somewhat by the season. There are tipico restaurants (food typical of the area), also within walking distance, serving lunch and dinner in the nearby fishing village of La Majahua. There are a number of other restaurants in the nearby village of Troncones. For those with the time and inclination there are same day or overnight trips to the nearby charming colonial cities of Morelia and Patzcuaro. A trek of three and one-half hours by car or bus to the northeast of Troncones takes you to these lovely mountain valley towns with their enchanting colonial architecture, indigenous arts and crafts and cobblestone streets.
Casa Porvenir is an ideal setting for basking in the glow of the present and dreaming of the promise of the future....WE WELCOME YOU! BIENVENIDOS!
