Privately owned two bedroomed town house, furnished to high standard, equipped with everything you need to make this your home for the duration of your holiday. Situated within walking distance from village square and local beaches, and in close proximity to communal pool.

One double bedroom (ensuite) and one twin room, 1 family bathroom and separate cloakroom. Large, open plan living and dining area with patio doors opening onto private terrace. The terrace provides an ideal place to eat and relax whilst taking in the scenery and sun. 5 sunbeds, patio table, chairs and umbrellas for your use. Both bedrooms also open onto private courtyard - perfect for quiet times. Fitted stair gate, pushchair and a selection of buckets and spades make the property ideal for little people. Cable TV.

Fully equipped kitchen giving you the option to enjoy meals at home. Linen provided. Reception also to hand where friendly staff can provide you with local information on things to do in the Algarve

Ferragudo Village: This quaint fishing village, with all its restaurants, bars and cafes, is located in the middle of the Algarve. You can meander along the quayside, stopping in a restaurant of your choice to sample their delicacies or through the picturesque cobbled streets. The main square, where you can share in the atmosphere with the locals, provides an alternative place to relax. During the summer months there is often musical entertainment here.

You will find all local amenities in the village e.g. banks, post office, daily fish, fruit and veg market, 2 butchers and a bakers. Free WiFi is available at cafe bars in the village square and at the pool snack bar. Within walking distance of Vila Castelo, there are also safe, sandy beaches with restaurants and bars with coastal views. For the more adventurous, there are clifftop walks where you can enjoy magnificent views and the flora and fauna of the Algarve.

Nearby places to visit + activities for all : Portimão, the larger neighbouring town, offers a variety of fashionable shops, nightlife and entertainment. You can also book day trips from here such as dolphin safaris, beautiful sea caves, fishing and a river trip to Silves. Silves is a historical mountain Moorish town, provides a lovely day out - a contrast to the coastal towns. Breathe in fresh mountain air on the way and sample the great fresh food of the region.

Getting to Ferragudo: Transfer from airport to Ferragudo approximately 45 mins (directions and car hire contact details provided on booking). However, a car is not essential for your stay in Ferragudo. You can take a taxi to and from the airport.

  • The family bathroom is adjacent to one twin bedroom, the other is ensuite to the double room. There is a cloakroom off the main living area. The apartment is professionaly cleaned before, during (dependent on length of stay) and after your visit. All apartment towels are provided but you will need to bring your own for use on the beach.

This means that they remain cool during hot weather and anyone going to bed early is unlikely to be disturbed by those having a great time above! The bedroom courtyard is fully enclosed and a very safe place for kids to play. It has the advantage of having some shady areas at most times of the day. Each bedroom has a safe.

Wonderful Spring getaway

We booked for a month and stayed for two. Doesn't that say it all. Great apartment really lives up to photos and reviews and unspoilt location and really quiet in early Spring. Would definitely book again and recommend unreservedly.

An Amazing Holiday

We have just returned from a weeks holiday in Ferragudo - Villa Castelo.
When we arrived at the villa we were greeted by Emma and Mike who manage the property and were very friendly.
The villa was clean, spacious and equipped with everything you could need!!! We then stepped out onto the large balcony and were taken back by the views. We were so happy......... What more could you want...... Well... The communal swimming pool was a few steps from the front door and was kept very nicely.
The village of Ferragudo was a short amble away passing the beach and walking through some very pretty cobbled streets.
We ate at some wonderful restaurents which served some very tasty seafood. Two of our favourites were O'Barrils and Velho Novo.
The beach was also only a short walk away and was kept very clean and tidy. There was a small play area on the beach for little children.
We found the locals very friendly and felt safe at all times!!!
My husband and I would highly recommend staying at this villa which is a close distance from everything you could need from a romantic and relaxing holiday.
We are currently planning our holiday at this villa next year.... Can't wait.

Our second visit to Ferragudo & Vila Castelo & we loved it every bit as much as our first visit! The property is a 'home from home', with everything you could possibly need provided, and is in an excellent location for all that Ferragudo has to offer! If you can tear yourself away from the wonderful terrace, the pool is 30 seconds from the house and the beach only 5 minutes walk away. The village centre is a 10 minute stroll and there are plenty of excellent bars and restaurants in which to have a meal and a drink (or two!). A couple of new places have opened since our last visit, both of which are well worth visiting...
Tempo Senang - Indonesian restaurant, just up from the pharmacy
O Canto - just behind the main square.
Mike & Emma, who look after the property, are really friendly & helpful and arranged transfers for us from the airport so we didn't bother hiring a car. All in all, a lovely holiday and we hope to return.

A lovely stay

I stayed at this lovely apartment with my husband for 9 nights in June. It is bright and clean with a lovely large sunny terrace. It has everything needed for a self catering holdiay if you don't wish to eat out much. We were about 5 mins walk away from the beach and maybe ten minutes walk into town. The swimming pool is literally a few seconds walk from the apartment! The town of Ferragudo has many lovely restaurants and some nice bars to sit in and watch the world go by. The owner of this apartment was very helpful. Mike and Emma (who manage the apartment) were also very helpful. Emma booked our taxi from the airport, they were also there to meet us when we arrived and also there to say goodbye. They really went beyond the call of duty to make sure our stay was an enjoyable one.
I will definitely go back to this apartment.

Fantastic for families

We stayed here for 2 weeks in Sept/Oct 2011 and had a wonderful time. We have 4 kids and the house was certainly big enough for us all. Mike and Emma were a great help and we would certainly stay here or in another property they manage again. The house is excellently equipped and very clean. The complex is lovely and the pool perfect for children. Ferragudo is very nice, friendly people and some good restaurants. Only downside is all the dog poo on the streets. We really enjoyed our time and booking was easy, Tony was reliable and honest. Would certainly recommend to anyone !
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
