Villa Velanidi is an exceptionally spacious villa nestled in the hills between Kourkoumelata and Kaligata in a peaceful and private location. It is surrounded by olive trees and countryside and constructed to the highest standards with air conditioning, pool, barbeque, views to the Ionian sea, and a large gardens. The ground floor comprises a spacious kitchen with oven, hob, and dishwasher; a dining area for 10; a large lounge with TV/DVD and a balcony looking out to the sea; a cloakroom; and double bedroom with en suite. The upper floor has one double bedroom with en suite and balcony, 2 twin rooms each with their own balconies, and one further bathroom. The lower floor opens to the pool and has a twin bedded room next to a bathroom. There is a further large casual area with towel pegs, pool and beach equipment storage space and casual seating. All bedrooms have a sea view. There is plenty of space for fun & relaxation.

Villa Velanidi is in a small valley in Kaligata just above the famous Avithos beach in Kefalonia. Other nearby beaches are Ammes, Minies, and Ai Helis. The village of Svoronata with its many tavernas and restaurants is a 5 minute drive. The resort of Lassi is a 10 - 15 minute drive away and has a large choice of places to eat as well as a number of mini markets for essential supplies and souvenirs. The villa is also about a 10 minute drive from three of the main supermarkets on Kefalonia. Excursions on the island include the main city of Argostoli with its port and archaeological museum, picturesque Fiskardo and Lixouri, Mount Aenos, the monastery of St. Gerassimos, Drogarati Cave, Melissani Cave and the Robola winery. Further away are wonderful day trips including Olympia on the Peloponnese and the nearby islands of Ithaca and Zante. It is ideal for families and groups providing a spacious villa in a very convenient location.

  • The top floor has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one ensuite. Each bedroom has its own balcony with sea views. The Mountain view bedroom has a view of Mount Aenos and the sea. Ground floor bedroom has double bed with ensuite bathroom and balcony with mountain and sea view. Lower ground floor bedroom is next to bathroom and has a door to the swimming pool. There are beds for 10 people, no sofabeds. Each bedroom has lots of wardrobe space. There are also hairdryers, a washing machine, and an iron and ironing board in the villa.

Fabulous Spacious Villa: Villa Velanidi is a new villa completed in May 2007 to the highest specifications. It has a 5m x 9m pool, large gardens, a barbecue and wonderful views of the sea and the mountains as well as olive groves and fruit trees. It is quiet with privacy and easy walks to the village of Kaligata, the village of Kourkoumelata and Avithos beach. The kitchen is fully equipped with tableware choices for inside or balcony dining. There is a washing machine and ironing facilities. There is easy storage for your beach/pool towels and games and a casual seating area on the lower floor as well as a table tennis table and equipment for your enjoyment. On those rare days you want to be inside the air conditioned living room has a flat screen TV & DVD player, lots of DVDs, games, and a library of books for your use. We provide linen and bath towels, cleaning 2-3 times per week and a welcome hamper on arrival. Our agents, Mike & Shirley, are on hand for any local questions and help you may need.

Travel details: The airport is about 5 km or 10 minutes by car so you can maximise your holiday time. Villa Velanidi is not under the flight path so there is no noise from airplanes. There are charter flights from most UK airports from May to October; email us for details. There are daily scheduled flights from the Athens airport. Email us for details on discounted car rental in Kefalonia. The drive from Athens is 2-1/2 to 3 hours plus 1-1/2 to 3 hours ferry ride.

Gardens: The poolside garden is a large grassed area which is perfect for lawn games or kicking around a ball and the villa has a badminton set which can be erected for use in this area. The gardens around the rest of the villa have flowers, shrubs and fruit trees. Farther away but surrounding the villa are dozens of olive trees.

This fabulous villa is situated in a stunning location, offering superior facilities to suit families and couples alike. The villa is within walking distance of beautiful Avithos beach with its clear inviting waters and two excellent beach restaurants. There are various local restaurants, also within walking distance or a short car ride away, which offer quality food at reasonable prices. You can hire a car to explore the island or visit the nearby town, sit in the square and enjoy a cocktail and snack whilst watching the world go by. We had a truly wonderful and relaxing holiday staying at this luxurious and delightful villa and I would definitely recommend this to friends and family,
