Ravenswood Cottage is situated in an idyllic, quiet, Somerset village. With stunning, panoramic views of the Mendips and cows and deer in the fields, it is the ideal place to relax and unwind. The garden has swings, badminton and a football net to keep the family entertained. Totally secure and private with an electric gate at the entrance.
The cottage has a vaulted ceiling with original beams, is bright and spacious. There is a lovely log burner in the lounge, along with a beautiful upright piano.
Perfect for ramblers, but equally as attractive for the more eclectic tourist, with the Cathedral City of Wells, the mythical town of Glastonbury and the stunning gorge of Cheddar, all within a short car journey.
For beach worshippers, Berrow, with its' inviting sand dunes and shipwreck is only ten miles away. The Somerset lowlands are on the doorstep
For a more active holiday there is rock climbing, gliding, caving, golfing, clay pigeon shooting and sailing to be had.
Local pubs, with their home cooked food and real ales.
GYM AND INDOOR PLAYROOM: We now have a fully equipped gym and an indoor play area for the children.
Fishing, sailing, rock climbing, caving, golfing, gliding, horse riding and many other activities are on the doorstep.
Please note that bathroom is off of double bedroom.
Extras: A welcome pack of local produce is waiting for you on arrival.
We can arrange for a car to collect you from the local train station and provide a service for you if you want to enjoy an evening out (for a small fee)
Well behaved dogs are welcome, but not allowed on furniture in cottage
IN-DOOR PLAY AREA AND GYM: We have a large indoor play area with a small snooker table, table football, games etc. Warm and dry area for the kids to escape to for a bit of time on their own. We also have a wonderful, original train carriage for you to enjoy.
Clay Pigeon Shooting: We now have a new and exciting activity that is available exclusively to our guests at Box Farm - Clay Pigeon Shooting.
Clay pigeon shooting is the art of shooting at special flying targets, known as clay pigeons or clay targets, with a shotgun.
Alan (our instructor) is a fully qualified BASC professional, with over 30 years experinece and can provide expert tuition. Whether you are 8 or 80, seasoned enthusiasts or complete novices, you are assured of an enjoyable and memorable experience in a completely safe environment within our grounds.
You will receive an in-depth introduction to your gun and approximately an hours professional lesson. We can provide guns, cartridges and protection.
Box Farm shooting provides a relaxed and friendly environment for both beginners and accomplished shots to enjoy whilst receiving tuition designed with the individual in mind.
Costs are approximately £25 per person (min. 4 people), including all clays, protection etc.
