Les Grandes Vagues is a spacious, luxury duplex apartment offering a vast balcony, a highly contemporary interior and stunning sea views. This is a surfer's paradise and guests can enjoy the services of two professional surf tutors affiliated to the apartment. Groups of golfers will also appreciate the proximity of Seignosse and Hossegor golf courses. The town centre shops and restaurants and the lagoon are all in walking distance. The 80m2 balcony enjoys unbroken sea views and it's an ideal place to take meals or relax with a drink. Inside, there's Sky Sports TV and table football to add to the fun. Les Grandes Vagues is a unique holiday let.

The apartment is located at Hossegor's popular Place du Landais, a short distance from the town centre. The sea-front location is home to many bars, cafés, restaurants and nightclubs - and the apartment is central to all of these amenities. Hossegor (pronounced 'oz-gorr') is in the Sud Landes area of south west France, not far from Biarritz. The area is dominated by a landscape of ocean, lakes and pine forests, creating one big outdoor playground. Hossegor benefits from good transport links - the autoroute is 8 kms and this provides easy access north to Bordeaux and south to Biarritz and Spain. There is a good choice of regional airports with Biarritz (c.45 min) being the closest and Bordeaux is 1hr30 min.

The Apartment: Stunning! What was once a dilapidated French horror is now a stylish, light and contemporary apartment which fully exploits its unique and enviable beach-front position. English owners Sam & Martin have done a fabulous job - you can sense it's been a passionate project and they are now really reaping the rewards. And with 140m2 of living space plus an additional 80m2 of balcony, it's extremely spacious.

Hossegor: It's a town that has a lot to offer: boutique shopping, great bars and restaurants, world-famous surfing beaches, two lovely golf courses ranked in the Top 25 in France and a beautiful lagoon for safe bathing. It’s little wonder, therefore, that the town is busy. The remarkable thing is that it's something of a French (and Spanish) secret; unless you're a dedicated surfer, the chances are you won't have heard of Hossegor.

Local Area: There's plenty of potential for excursions: - Visit Biarritz and St Jean de Luz - both are great resorts with excellent cuisine. - Explore the Basque Country and its delightful 'postcard' villages. - Visit Bordeaux for excellent shopping and its surrounding chateaux and vineyards. - Hiking in the Pyrenees. - Head to Spain and visit San Sebastian, Pamplona and Bilbao's Guggenheim.

Golf: This is a fantastic region for golf with several highly-rated courses. Hossegor Golf Course is 1km; Seignosse 3km; Moliets 20km plus several more around Biarritz.

“The apartment is spectacular, with a terrific location. It wasn’t too noisy and being so close to the sea was great…our three children (12,10,7) loved it...The link with the surfing school was excellent – Joel and Gabe were very friendly and great fun. Overall it’s a very cool place.” Mr D Hopkins (August 06)
