Two beaches, the popular Fisherman's Beach and the famous Peneco town beach seen in every photograph of Albufeira, are at the end of our street where from a viewing platform you are presented with breathtaking views and photo opportunities.

These spacious, ground floor apartments built in 2002 are on (above) the beach in a picturesque, car-free, residential side street lined with quaint fisherman's cottages - many still lived in by local people. This historic area of old town Albufeira runs along the cliff tops overlooking the beaches. A 3-5 minute walk down a gentle slope, steps or lift will take you right on to the beach or lead you in to the heart of the old town where at night the streets come to life with outdoor entertainers and where a variety of free live music is on offer from many eating and drinking establishments. And, when you have had enough you can walk home in minutes to rest and sleep in a peaceful area and quiet apartment. Enjoy Albufeira and Walk Everywhere from these Apartments!

Old Albufeira is a collection of characterful, streets that run off the old coast road and are very close to the beaches. If you want to be 'in' the old town then check the map.

APARTMENT INFORMATION:

APT1 and APT2 were built in 2002 and offer modern living facilities - spacious rooms, comfortable temperature in summer and winter, reliable utility services, entry phone and private parking in a secure underground garage. The front door to the building serves four apartments - APT1 and APT2 and two apartments above which are lived in so the common area is private and pleasantly quiet. Well equipped with home comforts and located in a safe neighbourhood inhabited by local Portuguese these apartments are ideal for year round rental.

WIFI is freely available in most hotels, bars and restaurants. The Hotel Sol e Mar and Tres Coroas Restaurant (Three Crowns) are at the end of our street and they offer free Wi-Fi and sea views. We enjoy sipping cocktails in the large retro lounge of the Hotel Sol e Mar or sitting on their balcony overlooking the sea while we catch up with friends and family via the internet. APT1 can offer Wi-Fi for 5EUR/day. See APT1 info for details. APT2 has NO Wi-Fi offering.

Two recommended local POOLs (one 12-15 min pleasant walk or 3-4 min drive from Apts) with good facilities e.g. snack bar, toilets, loungers, sea view etc. Ask for details.

PRICES are for a max of 4 people... Add GBP10 for each additional person per night. This apt sleeps 6 in beds. Built in 2002, this Old Town Albufeira 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, ground floor self catering apartment has all the modern facilities and comforts of home. The lounge/dining area has a dining table with 6 chairs, two leather sofas and an armchair that seat 5 comfortably, a large flat screen TV and a satellite dish to enable British TV and Freeview channels to be watched. The bedrooms sleep 6 people in beds and there is a cot available. NO WI-FI option in APT2 but Wi-Fi freely available in hotels, bars and restaurants. NO POOL in building but two local pools recommended so ask for details. One is 12 min walk from Apt or 2-3 mins in car. Across the hall is APT1, a 2 bedroom apartment for rent, so bring your family and friends!

I visited and fell in love with Albufeira in 1979 when it was a typical fishing village and have been back almost every year. My 4 children (2 boys and 2 girls) spent many happy holidays in the Algarve. They are now 26, 22, 19 and 16 and still visit but mostly with friends. I can tell you what to do in and around Albufeira no matter what age you and/or your family and friends are - we have done it all!

Location! Located in a residential side street in historic part of old town Albufeira yet a few minutes walk from the beaches and lively town means we can go out as a family or as individuals.

Comfort! A generous sized apartment (100sqm) with lots of home comforts and without the home clutter.

APT1 legally registered as Tourist Accommodation.

Great location

Tracy was helpful in organising our stay, including booking our transfers through Flexitravel and answering my queries about the local area. Despite a 4 night minimum stay, we were able to book 3 nights by paying for 4. We also got the cheaper rate as we only had 2 bedrooms made up.

The driver met our flight and drove us the nearest car friendly location to the apartment where we were met by Kevin. We had to go to the Flexitravel office 5mins away to pay and confirm the return transfer, and call Kevin en route from the airport. Kevin met our taxi and walked us the 2mins to the apartment - the views over the beach and sea are wonderful. On the return the driver was already waiting for us at the agreed pickup point.

The apartment itself is large and was comfortable. Its on the ground floor so it doesn't have a view and the balcony overlooks a courtyard, but we were only really there for sleep and showers. The balcony is good for drying clothes. There are two bath/shower rooms and towels are provided, though extra hand towels for hand drying would be useful - as 4 girls we need hairtowels so 2 each wasn't enough! Kevin showed us the heater/air conditioner, though we didn't use either as the fleecy blankets were available for the colder nighttime and open windows cool enough in the day for October weather. The sitting room and dining space is very comfy and well decorated, with reclining sofas, the bedroom walls might benefit from a lick of paint (suitcase marks I expect). We only really used the kitchen for breakfast as the local shops have a poor selection and the resturants are good value, but it seemed well stocked if you wanted to cook, and it even had a dishwasher and a washing machine. The safe was useful. Everything was pretty much as expected.

The location is the real winner. Turn right and walk 5 mins to the main shopping street towards the square, turn left and its 5 mins to the beach front restaurants. We loved the food, service and atmosphere for dinner at the nearby Royal Orchid (opposite the Sol e Mar hotel), and lunch was good at the beach front resturants. The beachfront was a bit expensive & the vegetarian selection poor for dinner. Another 5 mins across to the escalators and you can catch the tourist train to the strip, which is a bit full on but has more shopping and cheaper food. We also met Quadventura at the escalators and they were amazing, I'd highly recommend booking a tour with them before you arrive.

Happy Golfers

We stay at Rio do Cemiterio Velho Apartment Albuferira mid-September for 7night
We were 5 golfers it was the first time we had stayed in a Villa we usually stay in a Hotel .
It was very good it was clean and tidy it had all the amenity’s you needed
It was just a short walk to the breach and Albuferira Old Town so no need for taxes
It was easy to book Tracy was so helpful she even arranged for our pick up from the Airport
When we were dropped off near the Villa Kevin was waiting to take us and show us around the Villa
He also helped us arrange for a minibus through Carlos to take us to and from the golf courses each day they were always on time great service.
The only down side is it is a bit hilly if you have difficulty walking.
A big thank you
To Tracy, Kevin and Carlos for helping make this a most enjoyable week.

Perfect Holiday!!!

First, I would like to say a million Thanks to Tracy this Holiday would have not been possible with out her help. Her patience with me with over 60 emails! She Guided me through and through. Tracy, Thank you!

Both Tracy's 2 and 3 bedroom apartments are a perfect Location in Albufeira, The apartment it self will cater everything you need, Good space for a family or group of friends, Near the town and accessible to everything, does it sound busy and loud?? NO, you will still have a quiet night to rest and get ready for the next day fun. all you need to do is shop for food and relax at the cosy apartment. The beach was practically our backyard where my family go for a walk in the morning and swim in the afternoon when sun is not blazing ho! or shop around the old town, at night there were a lot of shows going on the the Square and our 3 year old son enjoyed the puppet shows and the car rides at the Fishermen beach no need for us to travel far as the the location has a lot to offer.

My son celebrated his 3rd Birthday at the apartment, played in the in the beach and had a dinner from a nearby restaurant.

It is all easy to travel back and forth the apartment, walking or Taxi, reference for Taxi will just be " On top of the hill next to Sol E Mar" you will be picked up and delivered right away.

We also found nearby Portuguese restaurant from the apartment where you can have 5 courses of grilled fish for only 12.50 that includes as much as you can eat of potato and salad., a lot of people we met have to walk down 30 mins just to enjoy the beach and they were amazed that we are staying just a minute away. I love going out early in the morning and looking how the town is so quiet and how it get busy during the day till night, and how the shore was empty and cleaned every morning and packed at day time!


This page will not be enough to describe how wonderful our stay was....I will just say It was PERFECT.

Easy going stay before Xmas

Apartment was "as seen" on the web site. Comfortable with all requirements covered. All rooms with heating and aircon, so all weather conditions catered for. Town was very quiet, but that allowed easy parking everywhere and easy to get round the shops that were open. Restaurants also very quiet, but still some wonderful food to be had - Casa de Fonte on the tunnel steps was very good, and had a lovely cosy atmosphere with log burner to keep you warm - it does get very cold in the evenings! But we were luck with lovely weather during the day, and the view from the seat a couple of minutes walk from the apartment overlooking the sea was beautiful - a favoured spot every afternoon.
Had a few issues with stairs, steps and inclines - parking space under the building (impossible to get in to because of another car parked so you couldn't turn) was three flights of stairs from the ground floor, and when you go out on foot there is always steps or inclines to negotiate - not good for us with walking issues! And the courtyard did not come off of the balcony, but was accessed via the basement car park - so not user friendly, and neither balcony or courtyard got any sun anyway in December, so no real outside space. But if you are fit the apartment was a wonderful base for the town and restaurants, all within easy walkable distance - it's just the slopes! Three Crowns, although the food we had wasn't great i would imagine is wonderful for a meal on the terrace in summer with stunning views of the ocean, and only a few doors down the slope from the apartment.
Owner's Response: The Algarvians take a well deserved rest in November and December so it is a quiet period and this provides visitors with an opportunity to explore lovely places without the summer crowds. The area picks up again for Christmas and New Year and continues to be open for the tourists who start to visit from January right through October. Albufeira and much of central Algarve is hilly with sand cliffs that drop down to beautiful beaches and this landscape is integral to Albufeira's character so it is strongly advisable to check what travel options are available for people with mobility issues. The apartment is a perfect base all year round as there is plenty to do and many outdoor options.

Our first holiday in Portugal!

We stayed our first week in Portugal in the 3 bedroom apartment. We enjoyed the apartment, because it was well equiped and clean. The apartment is very centrally located, near by beach, shops, restaurants and everything you may need during your holiday. In both rooms with the single beds, one of the two beds were not very comfortable. The other beds were all right. Unfortunately we couldn't find the coffee maker! Luckily the coffee was very good everywhere in Albufeira!

In spite of this we had a wonderful time in this apartment in Albufeira and we would certainly recommand this holiday home to family or friends.

Owner's Response: The close proximity to the beach and town is a major reason for staying in this apartment. It is an ideal base for all age groups as Albufeira has something to offer everyone. Families with teenagers/young adults find the apartment a good option in summer as Albufeira can be enjoyed as a family but it also offers the teenagers/young adults the opportunity to go off partying later into the night... and most importantly, they can walk back to the apartment safely and easily.

Old Town Albufeira 3 bedroom self catering apartment is ideal for holiday and long winter lets. The apartment is 1 of 25 that reside within an old municipal building that was reconstructed in 2002. It has been built to a high specification and designed to meet 21st century living - large, separate rooms off a connecting hall and fully fitted and equipped kitchen and bathrooms, mains water and gas supply, safe for storing small valuables, secure entryphone system and integral underground parking. The building is one of a collection of old listed buildings, Moorish gates, museums and interesting churches found in the old town's Heritage Zone. The apartment faces onto a cobbled street with fisherman's cottages and the back looks out onto a terracotta tiled courtyard. A few doors along from the apartment is the Tres Coroas restaurant and close by is the landmark Sol e Mar Hotel with its beach front al fresco restaurant, bar and cafe.
