The digs were as all the other reviews stated, a real home from home. Our 2 year old twins were spoiled for choice with the amount of games and equipment on offer. The local beach is absolutely gorgeous and the closest town Amble was great, three nice restaurants. Whilst the house is in the middle of a housing estate, the location was fab for accessing Walkworth, Alnwick, Alnmouth, etc. You definitely need a car to get around. Would absolutely recommend as the house was so well equipped and was spotlessly clean. A brilliant holiday was had by all three generations!
We all really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. It was all we hoped for and more.
It is on the edge of a housing estate which is odd but not a problem.
It is just like a home from home.
Could not get the tv to work all week but that was a bonus to me.
It dose look as if the price has gone up a lot for the same time next year though.
This is not a holiday rental, this is a home that Sharon and her husband chose to let people share for a while.
From the delighted shrieks from our children as they discovers one delight after an another.
The countless thoughtful touches that are bursting from every wonderful nook and crannie.
We all relaxed instantly, something we do not always do.
The kitchen is a delight, we rarely left it
All the local information was excellent, from places to visit and restaurant reviews.
The property was in the perfect location for all that Northumberland has to offer
It was spotless and well equipped.
What made made this holiday above others was the wonderful communication from Sharon, especially as I was convinced we were coming the week before!!!
Do not hesitate, book this property, we will be back for sure.
Many thanks Bryony, Bryn, Rhys and Tegan Evans
We all had a wonderful week here including the 2 dogs! The house is beautifully maintained, spotlessly clean and has everything you need including wifi and a lovely big garden for the dogs to play in. The kitchen/dinning area is perfect for family meals and the sofa was the perfect place to chill out while my husband made dinner! Druridge Bay Country Park is a ten minute walk with a choice of walks in the park itself or miles of peaceful beach to choose from - perfect for the dogs! Alnwick is only a short drive away and we would recommend a morning in Barters Books and broomstick training at Alnwick Castle. We have already booked our next visit!
Druridge Bay Lodge was the perfect family house for our extended family ranging in age from 63 to one year old. Two year old Eimear loved the pirate den and costumes as well as the drawers full of cars, farm animals, train sets and books and the decking was lovely and cool AND safe to play on. We were very fortunate in the weather the week we were there. Sharon and Paul made us feel so welcome and we really appreciated the inspired little touches... there was nothing we would change about it. We travelled from Ireland so it was a long drive but it suited my daughter, husband and children coming from Edinburgh. Lots of quiet, clean beaches around, amazing castles, spectacular scenery and friendly people. This was a truly great house which gave each of us space, provided a safe environment for the little ones and was beautifully decorated and well maintained.
Absolutely fantastic cottage, we all loved it, especially our 2 year old daughter. She loved playing with the fire truck and in the pirate house. The location is great. it is nice and quite around there and very close to everything. Information about thing to do around is fantastic and we end up seeing much more than we expected. We will definately will be back for longer next time and will recommend this cottage to anyone who wants to visit North East.
