Spectacularly sited on top of a hill amid vineyards woodland and meadows, like being in the Devon, just south of the handsome city of Bordeaux, this 17th century chateau with its charming restored cottages and flowered filled courtyards, serves as a comfortable base for touring the famous wine chateaux, medieval villages, lakes and pristine Atlantic beaches of Aquitaine. Heated pool, with high pool enclosure, protection fence and shallow end for children. Cycles for children, table tennis, badminton, basket ball, bowls, nearby tennis, golf, canoeing and horse riding. On request: Baby-sitting, satellite TV, video, fax. The chapel provides a haven to listen to classical music or for weddings. Cottages have their own garden with barbecue and garden furniture. Kitchen with hot plates, oven, kettle, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine, and fridge-freezer. Air-con. Wine tasting, WiFi in the cottages.

Lounge with open fire oven, private terrace with view to the garonne river valley, dining room with table and chairs, sideboard, old wood cooker, separate kitchen and private garden in the orchard. Air-conditioning and WiFi. On request, an additional double bedroom is available.

Waterskying at Baurech, Horse riding and Tennis at in the village, wine tasting organised by us on request, in nearby chateaux, walks and trekking in the meadows and forest surrounding the chateau, mountain bikes in Créon only 5 miles from us, sand beach at Hostens lake, (19 miles) Biscarosse, Arcachon, Lacanau, Sand dune at Le Pyla, Medieval villages of Saint Emilion, Creon, St Macaire, Cadillac with typical country markets, canoeing on the Ciron river, Sailing and Aquacity at Arcachon, Caves in the nearby Dordogne, Boat tours on the Garonne river, 5 golf courses within less than 1 hour by car.

Very charming

We were staying in Chateau Sentout in July 2011. It is a very charming place with the beautiful grounds. We were very pleased with the size and the condition of the swimming pool which was a favourite place of our kids.

The location of the place allowed us to explore nearby exciting places such as the biggest sand dune in Europe Dune du Pyla etc. Overall we are very happy with the place.
Recommended for:  Pet-friendly, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Wonderful Holiday!

We had a wonderful five day holiday at Chateau Sentout. Our daughter was doing part of her language course at the University in Bordeaux and we went to meet her for a few days. Everything we needed was there, including a travel cot and highchair for our two year old grandson. The location was perfect in the middle of the countryside with a village close by for the compulsary bread etc and half-an-hour from the beautiful city of Bordeaux.

The wine, of course, was delightful.

I am now quite smitten with Bordeaux and will return and would stay at Chateaux Sentout again.

I would not hesitate to recommend this property for a holiday, the owners were very helpful and friendly and supplied the equipment for our grandson without us asking - they only realised he was with us when we arrived very late on Friday evening.

Just to add, the directions given to us brought us straight to the gates without any problems at all.

Perfect! Could not have asked for more from this trip.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Nous avons eu une semaine superbe au château Sentout. Les lieux nous ont enchantés et les propriétaires, Gérard et Mary sont vraiment sympathiques. Merci pour la visite chez votre ami le vignoble. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le temps qu’il nous a consacré et ses explications généreuses. Dommage que nous devions quitter cet endroit charmant.
C’est sur que nous y reviendrons un jour.
Tu nous manques déjà château Sentout.

Ruhige Tage der Entspannung haben wir hier genossen.
Zum zweiten Mal hier in Winter, möchten wir auch noch einmal den Frühling au Châteua Sentout erleben.
