Villa I Cipressi rests peacefully in an old Olive and Cypress grove nestled into the hills that overlook Florence. This stone farmhouse has been lovingly and elegantly restored with traditional taste and contemporary comfort.
Tuscan wooden beam ceilings, terra-cotta floors, and antique furnishings compliment the history of the villa, while the luxurious linens, modern bathrooms, and air conditioning create a relaxing elegance in this tranquil country setting. Amenities also include satellite TV, unlimited free WI-FI (wireless) internet, and a beautiful swimming pool.
The villa is comprised of two floors. The upper floor has (two) bedrooms with a/c overlooking the beautiful Tuscan landscape and one full bathroom. The lower floor includes a large fully-equipped kitchen and a grand 'stone walled' living room with a very comfortable queen-size sofabed and a/c too. The complete bath is directly off of the sitting room.
The rooms of the villa are very well proportioned and designed with taste and style by your host Paola. Paola and family lives on the property. As your welcoming, English speaking hosts, you will not only have a Tuscan address, you will also have a very special 'entrata' into Tuscan life. The family can help you with everything from planning your day trips, restaurant suggestions, golf or hunting excursions, cooking classes, wine tours, history and architecture lessons, basic Italian, and so much more.

Thank you very much for the wonderful stay at your villa. You were so nice and helped us with everything we need.
There are a few thing that should be better in comparison with the price we payed.
I told Chris Lenders what should be altered.
But nevertheless , we had a magnificent holiday.
Thanks for everything.
My husband and two children (ages 10 and 8) spent 2 weeks here in July/August 2014. Paola is a wonderful hostess!! She and her husband, Fabrizzio, were warm and welcoming. Paola gave us a personal tour of Florence. The villa is as pictured - rustic and beautiful, overlooking a scenic olive grove. Looking out the bedroom window brought tears to my eye. We would go back there in a heartbeat. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway with easy access by train to Florence and many other wonderful locations! Taxis are expensive - consider renting a car to get to/from the train station unless you don't mind a hearty uphill walk from the station back to the villa. No taxis at Lastra a Signa train station. Overall, this was the best vacation of our lives, and we feel so lucky to have found this little Tuscan gem of a place!!!! We visited Pisa, Siena, Rome and Venice. We spent a few days going to Florence. We spent one day doing a beautiful wine tour through the Chianti region (www.ibiketuscany.com - highly recommend for bike or car tours of Chianti vineyards!!! - ask for Elizabeth!).
We spent the month of June traveling through Italy, including one week at Villa I Cipressi. In short, the week was fantastic and the highlight of the month in large part due to the hospitality of Paola, our host. The property has the character of a centuries-old estate located on top of a hill overlooking the small town of Lastra a Signa about 20 minutes outside of Floremce. Our lodgings were in a converted farm house that we had all to ourselves about 30 meters from the main building which had several additional villas, all updated with modern conveniences. Covering several acres, the grounds are straight out of a Tuscan tour brochure with cypress trees, olive trees and lemon trees surrounded by a stone wall, although the drive up to the villa can be a bit daunting as many roads in Tuscany are. The real star was Paola, who treated us as family including taking us on a tour of Florence. A highlight of the week was a traditional Tuscan dinner cooked in the main house by a delightful lady who resembles one's Italian grandmother. Suffice it to say that we will be back!
Our trip to Villa I Cipressi was unforgettable and will forever be in our hearts.
After an extensive review of many villas in the region, we selected Villa I Cipressi because of it’s location and what we envisioned the Tuscan region to be.
Nothing prepared us for the picturesque accommodations and hospitality provided by Paola and her husband Fabrizio.
All in our party agreed, the stay here was the highlight of our Italian holiday. Centrally located, made day trips to Florence, Pisa, San Gimignano, Siena, Montepulciano, and Lucca a leisurely drive through the back roads of the Tuscan countryside.
Especially enjoyable was the assistance we received from Paola on our trip into Florence and proximity to the amazing supper market that had everything we needed for our stay.
We look forward to the day when we return.

We love this place. This is a Italian country house lovingly designed. Everything was as pictured. The wifi worked perfectly, the swimming pool was an added pleasure on the hot days and the nights were quiet and peaceful. The owners could not have been more attentive and welcoming and we felt like we were an extended part of their family. Thank you Paola. You made our trip to Tuscany so enjoyable.
I read the review by Mr Jeff S. and his wife and I think they are the kind of people who don't travel much. The Fienile cottage is nothing like his review. He sounded like the kind of people who have a bad time everywhere they go. Hopefully everyone will ignore his bitter comments and instead pay attention to many wonderful reviews of this property.
We had a terrible experience here. Here are the major problems:
1) The cottage is filthy and neglected.
2) The WiFi internet and satellite TV do not work properly.
3) The baby cribs are old, dirty, and dangerous.
4) The cottage is plagued by flies, spiders, and ants.
4) The place is very overpriced for what you get.
5) The owner is aloof and unresponsive to issues.
6) The photos online are very deceiving.
We did not have a very good experience at this property from the get go. Upon arrival, there was only 1 of 2 promised cribs were in place and it was broken. Her son brough another 2 hours later, but it too was broken and had NO mattress at all. It was both unsanitary and dangerous! I still can't believe Paola would knowingly give us such terrible cribs. She had kids...would she put them to sleep in broken and dirty cribs? Inexcusable.
As for the property, it was a major disappointment considering the gorgeous (clearly outdated and Photoshopped) photos you see online. The reality is that the cottage is neglected and hasn't been properly cleaned in years. The kitchen counters were filthy, the bathroom was smelled of mold, and the floors had inches of dust in the corners. All of the furniture was worn out and unclean. Further, there was a legion of flies buzzing around the windows.
The promised services either didn't work or were in bad shape. For example, the wireless internet. The signal you get in the house arrives via a repeater 1000 feet away from the main house. Needless to say, you will get 1 bar at best and be constantly disconnected.
The satellite TV they offer did not work either. When we turned it on, there was a message on the screen from the satellite provider saying that the signal was being acquired illegally and that we were not eligible to watch the content. Charming.
Other things that were substandard: The fridge was very old and barely cooled our food. Multiple windows were cracked. Lamps didn't work. The patio furniture was grimy and pieces were broken.
Considering how bad the property was, we decided to leave the next day. When we told Paola exactly why, she professed to being shocked that we didn't love her place and seemingly didn't realize what bad shape it was in. Her very last words to us were insults, saying she knew we would be a problem and that my wife was probably just too picky about where to stay because of her recent pregnancies. I kid you not.
Avoid this property!
My family and I spent 5 nights in Florence over the Christmas holidays. We had the most wonderful time. Paola was exceptional. Due to the holiday, she made sure that we had reservations for dinner on our arrival (Christmas Day) and made sure that we had food and drinks to welcome us. She gave us wonderful information on where the best places to visit were and even took the time to go into Florence with us and give us a personal tour. The house was wonderful, and a perfect place for a family. We had everything we needed. I would surely recommend this place to anyone travelling to Florence and I hope that we are able to visit again in the future. Thanks again for everything!!
